There’s nothing bad to say about this place. The service was excellent. Food is 100% authentic. The dining room is very clean. It was only my first time here, but I will definitely be going back! I had the beef brisket enchiladas with Verde sauce, and honestly, I think it was the best I’ve ever had. It’s hard to believe this restaurant is in The Dalles! 5 stars all the way! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best Mexican restaurant in the Gorge!
Rio Grande never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious — truly some of the best Mexican cuisine you’ll find anywhere around here.
And the service? Exceptional every single time. The staff is consistently friendly, funny, attentive, and incredibly quick without ever making us feel rushed. It’s the kind of place where you feel genuinely taken care of from start to finish.
Plus… I can finally get my husband excited to go out to eat — that’s how good it is!
Highly recommend Rio Grande to anyone craving amazing food and an all-around fantastic dining experience!

Tonigh was our 1st time visiting this restaurant and we really enjoyed our meal . We ordered the Burrito for 2 (or not) and it filled us both up. I don’t eat much and my hubby couldn’t eat all that was left. He loved the spicy sauce and we’re definitely going back again.

BEST Mexican Restaurant in town. Yes, even better than Ixtapa and Casa. Family-run, and the food shows it. Fresh, home cooked, and delicious. My wife won’t go anywhere else for Mexican food (she’s Mexican). Our favorites are the Pollo a la Crema, Taquitos de Pollo, and the Tacos Governador.

We stopped at this taqueria on our road trip from Seattle to Bend Or. We were warmly greeted and impressed by the menu and the atmosphere. Food was great, especially the carne asada and burrito de mole (chicken in a delicious red mole sauce).
The hosts were friendly and generous with their time and ideas for our onward journey.

Decently solid Mexican food. Complimentary chips and salsa are tasty. And it is salsa not pico de gallo. With a fair amount of sneaky heat. It was about four or five chips in before I noticed it, somewhere between a mild and medium. I ordered the Burrito De Adobada. The black beans and rice were fairly standard. The marinated chicken was well done, a hint of vinegary goodness without being overpowering. The verde sauce was tasty and the guacamole was exceptional. Entree, drink and tip I was out for $25. I didn’t feel overcharged for what I got but neither do I feel that I got a little extra bang for my buck. The dining room is split in half. The half that faces the kitchen will get you good service simply because that’s where the waitstaff hang out so there gonna see when you need something. The half that faces the entrance, not so much. Out of sight – out of mind. I didn’t feel ignored but I could tell tables on the other side were getting just a bit more attention.

Authentic food, warm environment, and very attentive staff. Not too much or too little of anything, and the prices are quite fair. The brisket taquitos are excellent, with their delicious homemade guacamole.

Amazingly authentic Mexican food! Chili relleno the best I have had. Good margaritas, salsa with chips flavorful with a little heat. Just a wonderful meal.
