We went last night for a Valentine’s Day dinner, expecting a nice meal, and it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. To call the food disgusting honestly feels like an understatement. The presentation alone was enough to ruin our appetite — everything looked old and unappetizing. You eat with your eyes first, and there was nothing appealing about any plate that came to our table.
I left my entire meal untouched. The rice was hard and dry, like it had been sitting out for hours. The refried beans looked old and crusted over — I couldn’t even bring myself to taste them because of how unpleasant they looked. The steak was just as bad; I actually felt sick even trying to eat it.
My son wouldn’t eat his burger at all — he spit it out after one bite and only ate the fries. The birria tacos were another letdown. The meat was extremely tough, and once again, the rice on that plate was hard. Every single dish we ordered was a complete disgrace, which is unbelievable considering we spent $80.
The service was just as disappointing as the food. We weren’t even given silverware with our meals — which honestly made me question whether they expected us to eat that food at all. On top of that, the prices on the menu did not match what we were actually charged. I have never seen a business ring customers up for higher prices than what’s listed. That is completely unacceptable. (The waitress did adjust the pricing once I said something)
Overall, the taste, quality, service, and pricing were beyond disappointing. This was supposed to be a special Valentine’s dinner, and it turned into a waste of time and money. I will not be returning.

First time there – Sunday lunch.The overall decor is typical of Mexican and TEXMEX restaurants, but the table chairs are a notch above the others – very comfortable.
Our Waitress was personable and attentive.
No complaints about the food and prices.
Their Caldo Camaron is simply amazing. Loaded with veggies and shrimp. Very tasteful and satisfying. Enough to bring half home for another meal!
Definitely a place to go for lunch and midweek dinners. Don’t know about weekend crowds – especially on FSU and FAMU Game days.

This is the best quesadilla I have had in a long time. They steak is so good (and there is a lot), but the use of the yellow bell peppers is excellent. Connor’s could come here to learn how to flavor a steak. Great price and great margherita. Our server was very nice and attentive. Best Mexican restaurant we’ve been to in a long time!

We were looking for Mexican food in Tallahassee, came across this restaurant. It has a really beautiful interior with view off the back. The food was good, ordered a frozen mango margarita and I felt like it was a bit overpriced for little amount of alcohol in it. Chips and salsa were a tad bland and not spicy at all. I’d come back but try something different on the menu

My husband and I have been out of town w family in Tallahassee and we’ve ordered from here 3x in the last 2 weeks. I’m in love with their food. Their fajita rice and steak quesadilla is amazing! I would definitely recommend trying their food!

I always dine in. This place is amazing, very authentic food and always great service. I’ve never had any bad food or drinks. San Marcos is the best in this local area as they put all other restaurants to shame. I try to come here as much as I can, I will always come back for the food and spicy margs!

We had the to go carne asada and shrimp ceviche. Unfortunately we didn’t like either. The carne asada dinner had no flavor. And the ceviche shrimp had no limón or even salt. I also requested home made hot sauce that they usually have because I’ve been there before. Sauce was watery, with no salt or flavor as well. Not sure I will be going back.

Eaten here several times for dinner and have never had an issue with service or food. Good size menu with lots of options and the prices are reasonable, the chimichanga is delicious! We prefer it over the other Mexican restaurants in the same vicinity.
