Good food, good service, nice ambience, really cute date spot and a really chill place to gather with friends. It doesn’t have a pretentious vibe. The food itself is also really fresh, tastes amazing, and the lady who is the owner was really nice.
I loved everything, but the pakoras were my favourite!!

Still the best in the business! Been coming here for the last 15 years and they have remained consistent in their amazing service and delicious food! Chicken vindaloo is my favourite! They have a really good walk in lunch special as well. I am also pleased to see that they have branched out into some Hakka meals and other nice new items to try. This place feels like home to me and the owners like family. Thanks for all the good meals and conversations!

Came in for some dinner last night, on my girlfriends recommendation. Definitely was not disappointed! First time having authentic Indian cuisine. The owner was so lovely and definitely thrived on making her customers happy, and producing amazing authentic Indian. This will definitely become our monthly commute for amazing food! Highly recommend the chicken lentil soup, tandoori chicken and the butter chicken!

The food here is absolutely amazing—hands down the best Indian cuisine in Toronto and the GTA! The butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also tried the paneer, and it has officially become my new favorite. Every dish was packed with authentic flavor and made with obvious care. Highly recommend!

Indian owner Shilpa and her very cordial head chef ‘Bright’ – are wonderfully nice, good people, as are Shilpa’s entire family! They create and provide excellent, healthy Indian food from ‘Bombay By The Lake.’ And they do their best to accommodate people. For example, if you cannot handle very spicy foods, like I am challenged to tolerate, they are happy to do their best to accommodate you. But if you are an Indian from India, or person who can easily handle very spicy Indian food, they can certainly provide that for you as well. Another example: if you are sick and home-bound, they may deliver to your door, and with pleasure. Customers can also order to pick-up. These are just some of the good things I am aware of, with this restaurant, their kind owner, and the very considerate people who work there. Super nice people and very good, healthy Indian food, from real Indian people, from India. One of Etobicoke’s and West Toronto’s wonderful cultural highlights. I didn’t even mention some of their fantastic Indian dance-music videos they show in one area of the restaurant; wonderful talent! Much respect.

We’ve had an International cuisine lunch at the office and I was very lucky to pick Indian food during the draw. Even though, my ethnic background is Korean, I knew exactly where to get The BEST Indian food in Etobicoke – “Bombay On The Lake”. Our multicultural staff enjoyed chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, chana masala and vegetable biryani. It was so delicious! Nicely cooked, well seasoned and flavorful, just like a true home made meal from your Mama. Thank you very much, “Bombay On The Lake”! Thanks to you, I got #1 place during the “showcase feast”.

They sat us in the coldest harshly lit area of the restaurant. Segregated from the main dining area which was warm and cozy. The food is overpriced. The butter chicken was cafeteria quality, the vegetable korma was flavourless, the chilli chicken was sweet and sour for some reason, and the gulab jamun was average at best. I paid $90 for a dinner for 2 with no drinks and was left hungry because I didn’t want to eat more than a few bites of the meal.

We ordered butter chicken, vegetable samosas, naan, biryani, and a paneer dish and everything was amazing! So much flavour. Good portion size. Excellent customer service. I can’t wait to eat there again. I really enjoyed my whole experience with Bombay on the Lake.
