While waiting for our lunch reservations at a restaurant, we stopped in here for a beer. They had a couple beers on tap and several guys playing pool that seemed to be regulars. Service was ok. Not great, not bad. One of us in the party doesn’t normally drink beer but likes darks. When the bar tender was asked about testing the one dark beer, the response was no. In addition, the bar tender stated she had never been asked that, and it would be a big hassle because “the lines had not been cleared.” Our party member went with water but most likely would have enjoyed the beer. Other than this small issue, all in all, the visit was ok.

The staff here at the Gateway Tavern the best staff in the area. If you remember cheers on TV. That’s how I feel whenever I walk in. They know me by name and they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door, even when they’re busy. It’s a great bar to hang out and play some pool, darts and pool tabs. Thr bar tenders are great and they have a personality to match.i started going to the gateway over a year ago and now it’s like a daily routine. I’m not much of a drinker, but that’s ok Because at Gateway, all is welcome. I encourage everyone to go to the Gateway and experience one of the best bars in town.if you want a touch of class, come down and meet the staff they will make you feel right at home.

Bartender would not let us in with real IDs doesn’t like tourists. Do not come here this bar profiles people because they look young and have cali ids. Lost out on money because the bar tender doesn’t understand what a California ID looks like.

They saved my evening!!!
I was going to an event downtown and was starving, I stopped in to The Gateway Tavern for a quick bite to eat and even though they didn’t have a full kitchen, the food they heated for me was delicious and the right price! The atmosphere was very casual and friendly with great conversation! The bartenders were very friendly and hospitable. They made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The people there were obviously comfortable with each other and everyone knew everyone, and they welcomed me even though I was a stranger to them.
Definitely going back when I have more time to just hang out!!!

Gateway Tavern is the quintessential dive bar that you can’t help but love. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm welcome and a friendly smile from the bartender. The atmosphere is laid-back and unpretentious, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day.
One of the standout features of Gateway Tavern is its specials: you can’t beat their shot and beer combo for just $5.50! The happy hour (and even standard prices) are clearly what keeps both regulars and newcomers coming back.
They’ve also got a pool table, dart boards, a jukebox and a handful of tvs.
If you’re feeling lucky, you can try your hand at the pull tabs they have for sale. Personally, we’ve had great luck and won three times our money playing them!

The Gateway was an incredible find! A low-key, local bar that has everything you could want, pool, darts, cheap drinks and, of course, fantastic bar tenders! Kristina is always so kind and great at what she does! If you find yourself nearby, I would highly recommend stopping in to the Gateway.

Well last was absolutely one of the worst it was only after 7pm the bartender wad rude and seemed to be overwhelmed we just went there for a daily shake and bloody Mary but the homemade mix wasn’t made she said we was there last Sunday and that was the last of the mix?? I asked for a margarita bartender had the audacity to say the establishment wasn’t a Mexican restaurant my fiance than asked if we looked Mexican or something, waiting to do the daily shake cause drink orders came before the daily shake bartender continued to slam doors and mats around it was intense and dramatic all the way up to us leaving and not doing a daily shake and asked rudely if i wanted a mixed drink hell no not with that type of attitude and customer service the bartender said we didn’t have to come there when she is there definitely will do!!! If you don’t like it there you should leave !!!!
