Okay. It’s Christmas so I can give a place some grace. This place was NOT good. I was so disappointed. We went to Ocean Chef because it had great reviews, my husband used to order from there when he worked in Plymouth, and conveniently on our way home from my families in sagamore beach. We ordered take out. I have two small children, one is at this point asleep in her crib and it’s 630pm on Christmas. We opened the food. We ordered sesame chicken, it was HARD. We ordered fried rice, the rice had NO flavor and was a dull light brown. The veggie lo mein, again, wasn’t good and had minimal flavor. The crab rangoons(two orders) had JUST cream cheese. If there was crab it was EXTREMELY minimal and tasted sour. The egg rolls were fine. They were crispy. Liked it a lot actually. I called because at this point we spent about 80$ with a tip. We live between 30-40 minutes away. They offered to remake if we could pick it up. I spoke to THREE different people and explained every time. I told them that was impossible at this time to come BACK. It’s late, Christmas, and my kids are getting ready for bed. They said because we ate it all, they could not give a refund. I explained we DID NOT, most was still there, and I was happy to take pictures or whatever else they’re needing due to us not living or being in that area often if ever. If anything there was a dent in the lo mein, and the egg rolls. Then they stated they COULD NOT because a manager wasn’t there. I said “okay, when WILL a manager be there?” They stated they were unsure if and when one will be coming in. They offered to write my number down and IF a manager comes in, they’ll address it. Mind you, they said don’t take pictures, not needed. They didn’t offer to drop off. I’m just frustrated. Again, I’m 100% about giving grace to a place because of it being a holiday but this wasn’t it.

I ordered from Ocean chef for the first time tonight and I will order from them again and again. I chose the dinner special with rice, sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, and I ordered a few crab rangoons. It was absolutely delicious everything was flavorful and crunchy. I had the order delivered. The rice is a little light but, it wasn’t greasy and I like that better. The crab rangoon was super fantastic because it wasn’t sweet, it was scalliony and creamy that’s my favorite thing in the world!
I would definitely order from them again.

I just want to say I love this spot. I can’t race enough about it. I had the hot and sour soup and it’s the best version I’ve had since coming to Massachusetts. Delicious food at a fair price and great customer service
It’s a cute little take out counter, I was curious about eating here because someone said their veggies are fresh so I felt more inclined to have them. I ordered the ma po tofu and I am in love! Amazing amount of food, wonderful quality, truly has some heat, I could take a little more though. I’m impressed! The quality of the rice is great too. I think I have to be a regular now

Chicken fingers were juicy and very good. Chicken wings were okay. They were fairly large and juicy as well but not a lot of flavor. Egg rolls weren’t bad, but I prefer those with ground pork rather than cabbage.
All in all, not bad for the price.

Ocean chef was so good . It was my first time and they did not disappoint! I had the egg foo young dinner and a General Tso. I like that the rice is light in color and the oil was fresh for the fried food. This could be my new favorite spot.

Took a ride to the Plymouth store cause I had called the corporate office looking for Tera Cotta pots. With it being a seasonal item most stores were sold out but the corporate customer service guy Josh was extremely helpful and found a bunch of them close to where I lived and transferred me to the Plymouth store where the store manager put them aside for me. I’m only giving 4 Stars because like most Ocean State stores it was very cluttered and messy. For someone like myself it can be a bit overwhelming.

The food and service here were fantastic. This isn’t a sit-down restaurant. There are a couple of small tables if you want to sit and eat, but it’s probably best if you order as take out. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic and friendly. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Vegan options!! The sesame tofu and veggie delight were outstanding!
The price and portion size were also impressive!
Update: We ordered out for lunch today. For me, consistency is what makes or breaks a restaurant, and the Ocean Chef is consistently delicious!! Seriously, this place is the best!!!

I had wonton soup which was delicious, I ordered chow mein which was not what I expected it to be. It was almost like a chop suey with chicken it was absolutely delicious. The fried rice was excellent. I will definitely be back there again

I’ve had several good takeout experiences here. The pricing is significantly below that of some of the more popular Chinese options in the area, namely Red Tea Garden and Sushi Joy, but I’ve been happy with with quality of the food. That’s especially true of standards like fried rice, wonton soup, and king pao chicken. There is very limited seating; this place is geared to takeout. Online ordering costs a bit more, so you’re better off calling your order in and saving even more versus the big guys around here.
