I’m really split on whether or not I will be returning. Every employee I interacted with was very kind and made the entire atmosphere very warm and welcoming. Since it was the day before valentine’s day, my partner and I received complimentary champagne and a rose to bring home. Unfortunately, we both felt unwell after our meals. I had the chicken strip basket with garlic cheese curds. The chicken was a little bit dry but the cheese curds were great. My partner got the bone in garlic parm wing and they said they were amazing. I wasn’t sure if dinner is what made us feel sick, but I felt sick again after eating my leftovers for lunch today. I would definitely stop in again for a drink if I’m in the area and maybe give a dessert a try, but I don’t think I will be giving dinner another shot.

The food and atmosphere was AMAZEBALLZ. We ordered a reuben and the beef brisket plus the everything appetizer basket sampler. It was all so goooood!!! The marinara sauce was the best I have ever had!!!! We r going back this weekend even tho its 2 hrs away from where we live bcz its THAT worth it!!!

A bunch of us were getting together after a small intimate wedding for food and drinks. The original location could not support us, even though it was coordinated in advance.
With next to no notice Pioneers stepped up to the plate and exceeded our wildest expectations. Great food, amazing service. They went above and beyond and saved the day.

I attended the last minute wedding that came due to our prior location dropping the ball and failing. Not only did they welcome us in with open arms but made the dinner more than anyone could have asked for.
I cannot say enough good things about Pioneer, from the food to the atmosphere they created it left me speechless.
To the owner and staff who graciously gave us bottles of champagne, AND cake from the local creamery, you guys are amazing and so fun!
To the kitchen staff who took on a big order, we kiss the chefs!
Our serve was SO attentive and kind, she worked our table of 30, almost completely alone flawlessly and with zero complaint and a smile on her face. She did this better than places I have been to with 2 servers. I feel horrible I didn’t get her name but she deserved a shoutout of her own!

I am the groom from the impromptu wedding party yesterday. I can’t thank you guys enough for your hospitality and going above and beyond on such short notice after prior arrangements fell through. Everyone that came were blown away at how well you guys did and how hard you worked. You went above and beyond and laid out tables and even lit candles. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better you surprised us with champagne and cake from casey creamery. You definitely made our night! Thank you again and again and again

Best coleslaw ever. Great smash burger and tenderloin. Fries were meh- but isn’t that the case sometimes? The Moscow mules were great- had to let the waitress know whiskey wasn’t involved in a mule but the bartender knew what they were doing and did it right. The atmosphere was small town Iowa to be sure, lots of older folks having a Friday dinner but the family next to us got to joking. It was enjoyable to be sure and reasonably priced. Our waitress sure tried hard and was super kind. Did get double charged for a beer- it happens but still sucks. The other items on the bill were charged correctly.

The food is way better than most “pub food”. The burgers use fresh ground beef from Guthrie County Quality Meat, instead of frozen patties. The pork tenderloin was hand breaded and fried! Fish and chips were amazing (my 4 year old smashed it!). Located in a classic Iowa Main Street. Great food, great atmosphere.

It’s a great place for dinner. The cheeseburger is a great option for lunch or dinner for a great price, and the prime rib special on weekends is a great dinner option however it can get a little pricy. They also have a great salad bar and it’s almost always stocked up with great food. The experience is great, and the employees are always friendly, would definitely recommend
