10/10 experience at American Bar and grille. I had low expectations with this being a casino restaurant, but I was completely blown away by my experience.
We made a reservation earlier in the day and were seated promptly on arrival. They accommodated my request for seating next to the fireplace (highly recommend, you’ll be away from passerby’s too). We ordered the spicy sausage pizza and the tagliatelle, both of which were phenomenal.
The bread and butter they gave us was the BEST bread and butter of my entire life. The crust of the bread was crispy and the inside of the bread was soft and moist.
For two entrees, we spent $60 and left extremely satisfied. Only downside was that there was a server who was exhibiting some odd behavior. He kept standing in a corner and staring, and walking halfway up to our table and pausing. This led to a slightly uncomfortable experience. Apart from that, I highly recommend this restaurant out of all the restaurants at Borgata.

Beautiful restaurant in the Borgata with a great staff. Ordered the prefix menu on Mondays which was a great deal. For the prefix ordered the clam chowder, grilled pork chops and the crispy garlic potatoes. Also ordered the PEI mussels. The pork chops is a must with its delicious gravy and pear/apples pieces. Also a must is the crispy garlic potatoes!!!!!! Delicious!!!!

I had a fantastic dinner here. Everything was very fresh and it tasted like it. The food was served beautifully and it tasted as good as it looked. Fantastic meal. I highly recommend the chicken it was delicious and the bread was good to dip in the sauce.

A special place in AC. We had an amazing meal and James was such a great server. So attentive and made our meal special. Dan, GM, also was so kind and welcoming. Truly felt like family and can’t wait to go back!! Food was wonderful from the pumpkin soup and the Parker house rolls all the way through the main courses and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert 10/10!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 Stars
An exceptional dining experience from start to finish—flawless execution with just one minor hiccup.
We had a fantastic meal as a party of four, and everything was handled seamlessly. The server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and on top of every detail. The ambiance struck the perfect balance—not too loud, with stylish decor that enhanced the upscale vibe without overwhelming it.
We ordered three Bronzino (stuffed with crab meat) paired with sides of mashed potatoes, carrots, garlic potatoes, and truffle fries, plus a burger for variety. The Bronzino was a standout: perfectly prepared, moist, and flavorful—one of the best I’ve had in ages. The sides were spot-on, complementing the fish beautifully. I sampled a bite of the burger, which was solid but could have benefited from a touch more seasoning (just a pinch extra salt would elevate it to perfection).
Otherwise, every dish was outstanding.
The total bill easily topped $300, but it was well worth it—especially since the casino covered it! We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Atlantic City. Highly recommend for special occasions or a memorable night out.
Pro Tip: Reserve ahead if you’re a larger party; they managed our group of four effortlessly.

Came in around 7:30pm on a Sunday with no reservation. Only seats available were at the bar until 8pm. No problem. Space was cleaned up right away and our orders taken. Woodford Old Fashioned was fine. The pear martini was mixed and poured in front of us with a nice little flourish. And it was delicious with surprisingly delicate pear notes. Was looking for light fare so we just ordered Brussels sprouts, truffle garlic fries, and spicy Italian sausage pizza. Fries were amazing with little globs of garlic, Parmesan, and parsley all around. Sprouts were crisply cooked with a sticky sweet (but not too sweet) glaze. The pizza was a little unexpected – rather than little chunks of sausage, it was a wide slice of what looked like bologna. Pizza itself tasted good but there’s a nonna somewhere offended with what they called Italian sausage. Place looked nice and the place was definitely abuzz with patrons.

No reservations but 1 hr wait Monday night at 7:45 … finally was sat at a table next to the kitchen and Server stock tables. Eh that’s fine – waiter was good- efficient and polite Took our order and correctly. Offered up the chef specials. Ordered the bread/rolls appetizer for $9? Usually table bread is free but ok. Warm Rolls served w cheese butter was delicious. And also chose the bbq ribs served Asian style. The sauce was good but ribs were kind of dry and very small not a lot of meat- Waited about 55 minutes from sit down until dinner was served which seemed a little long. Got 2 entrees Pork Milanese which had a decent flavor, breaded and sauced – served with a side of arugula (it’s a vegetable!) and I ordered the half chicken Marsala served over a few green beans. I chose an extra side of the creamy mashed as well. All items are Ala carte so nothing comes with dinner. The chicken was overcooked with a super crispy skin. The 2 pieces were flattened out and separated- which was interesting- It was edible so I just let it be. I heard the waiter telling the couple next to us who had received a hockey puck of a burger that the chef was busy preparing for the week so the assistants were cooking and they were a little overwhelmed in the kitchen. So why send food back to wait even longer. The staff was very attentive and came back often and checked with us. Didn’t order dessert as the choices were not to my taste. Coffee was very good though. All in all there are better tasting food options in the Borgata- probably would not dine again . 2 appetizers 2 entrees. 2 non alcoholic drinks and 2 coffees. $140 for dinner was a little over priced for what you get.

OMG this place is amazing. James was our server and he was great. My fav item on the menu is the white bean bruschetta! Best appetizer ever! Pesto crusted flat bread to go with it. For dinner the fluke was outstanding. Flavors were just incredible. We’ve been to many places in Atlantic City and I will only go there for dinner when we’re in the area now. We’ve been there about 5 times and it never disappoints.

Food was great. Started with gem salad and k-town chicken. The salad was fresh and delicious. Only issue was for a salad with peaches, more peaches and make sure they are sweet. The peaches were lacking and flavorless. We shared the pork Milanese and it was tender and cooked perfect . Needed a touch of salt. Also had the summer corn side. Drinks were great! It was noisy but overall a great time. Will be back. Here are a few pics of eaten food!
