I stopped at Peeple’s for two tacos. I should have left after the lady at the counter showed little to no customer service. I asked her if the chicken was shredded. She said that it’s chicken breast. She did not answer my question but it’s actually the way she answered that is the issue. There was more dialogue about sauce but too much to type. Just know that she has no customer service skills and spoke to me as though she was doing me a favor. I briefly looked down at my phone and when I looked up, she was in the food prep area preparing my food. I HOPE she washed her hands before handling my food. She went from the register to preparing food – No apron, nothing covering her clothes. I’m not sure if she had on gloves or not. The chicken tacos I received barely had any chicken which WAS NOT CHICKEN BREAST. The tacos were actually disgusting. There were very BIG pieces of onions, wilted lettuce, and mushy tomatoes on the tacos. I tried to call but was placed on hold and was unable to hold for long. I would have taken the tacos back but had left the area. I will not visit this establishment again.

This is my 2nd time visiting and last as it was pretty bad, I wouldn’t call the large cheese fries that, it was more like a small cheap 2 single sliced cheese that didn’t melt fries, and the taco shells were hard… but the worst, the special buy 4 tacos, get the fries free wasn’t honored bc they changed the rules to “all the tacos had to be the same” but I paid more than any 4 bc i had a double 2 jerk and 1 steak… sadly the most important thing was the cook getting his bottle of tequila that some due brought/lifted him in exchange for a few tacos…

A treasure to try! Never heard of this place and unfortunately missed it all these years. This restaurant has been around for over 70 years on Chicago and 2 years in this location.
Great tacos! The shells were nice with a buttery taste to them. The mear was tender and plenty ingredients in the tacos. The wait wasn’t long for the food.
The owner was helpful with our order and telling us about the family business as well as what tacos might suit us. He has a jerk chicken taco but it’s not foe the weak taste buds person. You’re not going to run down the street like Richard Pryor on fire but you probably will run for a drink to cool your mouth down.
The fries were tasty. They put slices of cheese and melt it on the grill on top. I haven’t had them that way since childhood.
The lemonades and teas are a must. A Variety of flavors for everyone.
A must try and keep coming back place. Y? Why Not!

I went to the one in Hazel Crest. Never coming back. Took 30 mins for some cheese fries, 2 steak tacos and 2 chicken tacos with no flavor. The cheese fries consisted of 10 fries with a slice of cheese melted on it.

I had high hopes, but was left unimpressed. Ordered soft shell tacos— steak and beef. While the actual shells themselves were tasty, the beef and steak tacos lacked flavor. They both tended towards the greasy side and the cheese and meats were on the sparse side. I did ask for the mild sauce on the steak taco, but either they forgot to add it, or the sauce itself did not add much to the flavor. I found both tacos hopelessly bland. It wasn’t just me, I ordered tacos for two others and we all had the same consensus. I wouldn’t characterize the tacos as bad per se, they just lacked seasoning in the meat. I would also add that the meat in the steak taco was pretty tough, and not tender at all. The decor and atmosphere of the establishment was good. The service was friendly but slow on food prep time. Given there were no other orders outside of ours, I would have expected a shorter wait to get the food. It took 15 minutes, they said about 8 minutes. Can’t say that I would rush to give them another try immediately, as of this writing they had only been open about a month and a half. Perhaps they are still working out the kinks.

Small joint but I popped in to grab a few tacos. I got chicken, beef, and steak all are decent-sized tacos. The chicken was my favorite 7.6, the beef was 7.2, and the steak was 6.9. All came with lettuce tomatoes and cheese but no sauce. That is what was missing…it didn’t come with any taco sauce which might been a game changer. The beef taco wasn’t big on flavor either and the steak taco yeah I wasn’t feeling it too. The meat on both wasn’t high-quality. Overall 7.4 the spot was decent and customer service was cool.

I ordered chicken and steak tacos. I assumed it would be all white meat for the chicken but it was some dark meat. I should have asked.
The tacos have a unique flavor. A little cilantro, more meat and less oil would have given the tacos another level of flavor.
After a couple of bites, the excessive amount of onions in comparison to the amount of meat put in the taco really takes over tasting the true flavor of the taco meat.
I would visit again and try something different to support this business. Be sure to stop by and try them for yourself and let me what you think.

I love Peeples Tacos. I’m glad they now have a south Suburban location. I use to travel all the way to the Westside to grab some of their tacos. From my experience the food is always good and they are always a vibe. They keep a smile on their face and is always pleasant.

I was born and raised out west where they originated from and I grew up on these tacos. The best in the west. When I heard they had opened one up in the South Suburbs where I have relocated, I was so happy to hear this. They are still the best taco place out south!!! The customer service is awesome and the taste is top tier!!! I will definitely be back AND will spread the word!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! Peeples Tacos are #1
