We’ve never been to this restaurant before, it is our 1st time. We saw it and figured we would try it. 1st impression walking in the door was that the restaurant was very clean and Welcoming. Lots of wood and Southern charm and Americana make you feel comfortable. Waitress met us at the door With big smiles and was very welcoming.
Ordered fried green tomatoes and The Buffalo chicken dip as appetizers… Both Were great. My wife who does not even like tomatoes ate several of the fried green tomatoes and enjoyed them.
Ordered the Fried Oysters, With collard greens and a side salad. My wife says the blue cheese seems to be homemade. My wife The honor ordered the Barbecued half chicken with Sweet potato fries and coleslaw… She loved everything!
See also got a double meat so that I could have some pulled pork and their sauces are great.

Our experience at Route 30 BBQ was 5 stars! The staff were welcoming and friendly. The owner, Vic introduced himself and told us about the journey his family had been on opening the restaurant this year. Don’t let the newness fool you, they know how to make some delicious BBQ!
As for the food, everything was fresh and home made. We enjoyed the fried pickles and home made ranch as an appetizer. The pulled pork nachos were great as well! Not one soggy chip! The pulled pork was incredible. The flavor was amazing and portions for all of our food were generous. We will most definitely be back!

The hubby was looking for BBQ and found this place. I’m so glad he did, too! It was delicious, and they do not skimp on the food either, so bring an appetite or do like we did, bring it home for dinner tonight. Thank you, Route 30 BBQ & GRILL

I was welcomed with big smiles and warm southern hospitality. Appetizers and drinks came wicked fast, our glasses were never empty,, and the staff left enough room to enjoy our food before our main course arrived. The BBQ chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and you could taste a hint of smoke throughout. The pulled pork was flavorful with a hint sweetness buried just below the wonderful juiciness. The ample side dishes were in perfect compliment to the meal. The key lime pie was an absolute divine ending to our dining experience. Definitely will return. (The ice for the drinks is my favorite kind of ice)

It was our first dine in experience at the route 30 bbq & grill. We usually take out. The food has always been great! We had a pleasant time. The staff is very nice. The brisket is my favorite! The soft drinks and water come in huge mason jars.

The BBQ was delicious. My friend and I tried 3 of the meats and we were delighted with them all. We were seated right away. Our servers were polite and answered all of our questions. They made suggestions, as well. Just a pleasant evening out on a Thursday. Oh, BTW the drinks were fantastic!

I was at the King William Farmers Market and a guest told me about Route 30 BBQ. We decided to check it out before heading home. Great atmosphere, excellent service and amazing food. My friend had the pork sandwich, and I had a chicken wrap special. The chicken was so good. The Painkiller drink I had with it was also worth trying. This may be our go-to after future markets.

We prefer taking the backroads on our family road trips, and Route 30 sure beats I-95 as far as a relaxing drive through Virginia. On a Friday early evening/late afternoon, we saw a Farmer’s Market with friendly folks selling delicious produce and treats.
We walked across the street to Route 30 BBQ & Grill and were greeted with smiles and charm. Our waitress Rebecca was cheerful, warm, and attentive. Good cold beer on tap served in a mason jar, delicious sweetened iced tea were brought out promptly, as was our meal.
We sampled all four of the BBQ sauces and had a healthy debate among our family about which was best because there was intense competition. The sides of hush puppies, onion rings, Cajun fries and collard greens were spectacular with the hush puppies being a standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside but warm and moist within.
The BBQ pulled pork, ribs, and chicken were top notch. I won’t pretend to be a connoisseur of BBQ, but I am an expert with respect to my own taste buds, and they were smiling, and the wife and kids all felt the same.
The friendly owner came by and we exchanged friendly stories and pleasantries. He let us know that all the food is make and prepared on site, including the sauces and pickles, and his sense of pride was palpable and warranted.
And for this family from California, the price tag was equally as friendly as the staff. Shockingly good value. Highly recommend.

The winners for our family included fried green tomatoes, brisket, ribs, and the Bonsai burger. We started with the fried green tomatoes. I loved the thickness. They had just the right amount of spice, and the blue cheese crumbles worked well with the dipping sauce! I liked how they served the brisket too. Instead of being cut into thin wimpy slices, they were cut into larger chunks. I’m glad the server recommended them. We all agreed we would stop here again. The flavors were great and worth the stop! Oh, and my son ate his portion of pimiento mac and cheese plus the rest of mine. We are also picky about coleslaw and liked there’s.
