This powdered sugar french toast is the best fresh toast I have ever had, anywhere! It’s perfectly caramelized, fluffy, and soft. I think Fortezza is underrated and I don’t know why people don’t talk about this french toast more. The only thing I don’t like about Fortezza is the seating. It does stop me from choosing to go. I don’t think there is free wifi for those looking for a coffee shop to study or work at.

I just stopped by to get some coffee to go, but the place seemed quite nice. There was plenty of seating in the other room, and the decorations were unique. They had a decent selection of snacks, and the staff were fairly friendly. I got a hot latte to go, and it didn’t need any sugar or additions; it was plenty smooth on its own. I had no issues and would be back if I lived close by.

Tried this coffee the other morning and it was actually pretty good. The flavor was smooth and not too bitter like some coffees can be. I’m usually picky about coffee, but this one had a nice balance and didn’t taste burnt or overly strong. It also smelled really good when I first opened the cup, which is always a good sign lol. It kept me going through a long morning at work without feeling jittery. Only small thing is I wish it stayed hot a little longer, but thats not a huge deal. Overall I’d probably grab it again next time I’m in the mood for coffee.

Popped in for client meeting. It has been awhile since I was last here. I like the chill vibe to allow to get some stuff done or meet with someone. I liked the coffee and I appreciate that if you are staying you get to enjoy your drink in glass or mug. The coffee was good and the location is pretty great.

Fortezza Coffee in downtown Fort Collins nails a laid-back yet modern vibe, perfect for a quick coffee or a leisurely hangout. The space feels warm with its mix of cozy armchairs, communal tables, and sleek decor, creating an inviting atmosphere that draws in students, freelancers, and locals alike. Natural light pours in, enhancing the relaxed energy, while the hum of conversation and soft background music keeps things lively without overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can sink into a chair with a laptop or catch up with friends over a latte.
The staff adds to the charm with their friendly, slightly chaotic energy. They’re genuinely warm, always ready with a smile or a quick chat, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. However, their enthusiasm can come with a touch of disorganization—orders might take a moment longer than expected, or there’s a playful scramble behind the counter during busy hours. Despite this, their kindness shines through, turning minor hiccups into part of the experience. Fortezza’s vibe and approachable staff make it a go-to spot for coffee lovers seeking a welcoming, unpretentious hangout.

Great coffee shop downtown Fort Wayne. Baked goods looked amazing and the cappuccinos were fabulous. Plenty of space to work or relax and chat.

Fortezza is a lovely hole-in-the-wall coffee shop and hang out space! A little sparse on comfortable/plush seating, but the various options make up for it somewhat. Want a coffee table? They’ve got a lovely live-edge setup. Privacy and seclusion? The back room is ideal to hide yourself away for a few hours. Want a view? There’s a window seat with cozy cushions and a quaint street view of downtown. Whether for here or to go, Fortezza is an ideally situated coffee shop in the heart of Fort Wayne.

The barista talked down to me like I don’t know anything about coffee/latte/cappuccino and tried to upsell too much. The “regulars” spread out and take over the entire place. They sit by themselves with their devices and clearly are there for the long haul. Good luck finding a table without a stranger right up against your back or arm. We tried to use a nice, open window area to converse and enjoy our lattes, but within a few minutes our tiny space was taken over by a homeless man and his many possessions. We tried to stick it out, until he started bumping into us and our table and was banging and dropping things, such as a metal water bottle (6 inches away from us). Needless to say, our sips turned into chugs and we left asap. Will never go back!

Very clean, cute place with awesome views downtown, parking garage right near across the street!
Iced coffee, latte, muffins, and apple blondes were all amazing and tasted good, I don’t recommend getting the iced green tea, it was too strong and didn’t taste good. Only complaint ☺️. My friends and I went around 3:30-6 on a Monday afternoon and there were only a few other people. So if you’re looking for a quiet place to study I recommend it!

I go here every Thursday to grab coffee with my coworker and it is one of our fav coffee shops in Fort Wayne. We have our fav barista who always works Thursday and she is the sweetest! My go to drink is a vanilla latte and it has a perfect amount of caffeine for me. This place also has a lot of sweets and light breakfast. A perfect spot to get together with friends and catch up or to stop and study for your exams. Highly recommend!
