The menu also includes a wide selection of bubble tea options, which pairs nicely with the food. The establishment itself is clean, small, and well-kept, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Parking is available, though the lot is on the smaller side.
The main downside is inconsistency in roll size and portioning. My rolls were generously filled and very satisfying, but my husband’s rolls, made by a different employee, were noticeably smaller and skimpy. For a build-your-own style place, consistency is important, especially when pricing is the same.
Overall, the flavors, variety, and friendly service make this a solid choice, but more consistent portions would easily make this a 5-star experience. Will definitely be stopping in again though!
now the unfortunate part, the cons: as i watched them build the rolls, i was shocked at how LITTLE veggies they put on each roll, i prefer lots of veggies in my spring rolls so i asked them to add more lettuce and more carrots to the nem nướng rolls. the rolls were fine, nothing special really, the meat was seasoned okay. i didn’t really like the coconut curry peanut sauce, the curry flavor overpowered the rest of the sauce and the regular peanut sauce tasted… like peanut sauce. there also wasn’t enough sauce provided. i was halfway through a provided container of sauce less than half a roll in so i had to be careful with how i rationed my sauce after that. the drinks were also a let down to me personally, the peach lemonade was far too sweet in my opinion and the cà phê sinh tố bơ was bland, the coffee added nothing to the avocado.
again, i consider myself a harsh critic when it comes to vietnamese food so take this with a grain of salt. overall this is a good place for when you want fast and decent vietnamese food but this is not going to become a go to place for me.
The place was very clean, all the staff were friendly and professional, and all the ingredients appeared fresh.
While there was quite a line, no one was really dining in. You can see in the photos that the seating area was empty despite how busy it was. So likely plenty of seating if you’re hoping to dine in!
Vegetarians/Vegans beware!
I only ordered a drink after realizing everyone on the line was handling meat while wrapping rolls and making bowls. Even if they change gloves, cross-contact still occurs since the same hands touch all the food containers.
I don’t expect them to change their setup, but since the menu lists “vegan” sauces and lets you build your own roll or bowl, it could easily mislead someone into thinking a vegan or vegetarian meal is possible. Removing “vegan” from the menu would make that clearer.
I also noticed one cashier handle cash and then go back to the line with the same gloves. They’re clearly still figuring out their flow, which is understandable for a new place.
My partner (not vegetarian) ordered a bowl and said the veggies were fresh, but the noodles were clumped and the tofu was dry. I didn’t try it for the reasons above.
My only complaints are pretty superficial and so I didn’t let it affect my overall 5 star rating but since it is so new I’d love to give my honest critic.
I was slightly disappointed in the spice level of the Chimichurri sauce, the menu said it was supposed to be spicy and I personally didn’t taste any level of spice to it. I also felt the protein portions were not consistent, both my spring rolls and baguette had hardly any meat on it which maybe would have been fine if I hadn’t watched a different employee making the customers behind me order and they got at least double the amount of protein I did and they ordered the same meat options I did. I can tell the young man making my order was not very confident in what he was doing but I was very understanding that they just opened and was still new to it all, it was just disappointing to see how much less meat I got in comparison to the guest behind me. My baguette was also handed to me with the paper around it totally open which was a pain to get it home in that condition.
Overall the prices and food was phenomenal and I will be back! I would strongly recommend this establishment.
They also have hot food that I can’t wait to try when I return.
I was pleasantly surprised by the price. $12 for three large rice rolls is a great value!
The place is clean and has beautiful plants as decor and there was plenty of seating arrangements that I will take advantage of next time.
The concept is fantastic. You can make bowls, bahn mi, or rolls. It’s set up like Subway where you go down the line and they build everything to order in front of you.
I chose three rolls for $12. Garlic fried tofu, bulgolgi beef, and lemongrass pork. The rolls were chunky (good thing). They also have optional crispy wontons to place inside (do it!). Then I got the choice of 2 sauces (I believe they have 5-7). I went classic peanut and coconut curry.
The curry has a slight and delightful kick. Peanut was well done.
I also ordered a milk tea and opted for tapioca pearls which were freshly made and warm. It was delicious.
I will definitely be back as this was the perfect lunch.
Good work and keep it up!
My husband discovered this place, so I have to give him the credit. It’s near the Clackamas mall! This is a good lunch spot place when you are hungry and need a quick healthy bite to eat. Yummy quick Vietnamese food on the go.
My husband and daughter ordered their spring rolls. You get two and it came with peanut butter sauce. Yum! I ordered a bowl: rice noodles, lemongrass chicken, teriyaki pork, some veggies, and their vegan green goddess dressing. Highly recommend their bowls! The woman said you can do half rice and half salad, so that reminded me of ordering at Panda Express. You get to choose two proteins too (veggie option is their tofu). It’s nice to see vegetarian options here. The bowl is large, but it’s the perfect amount since it’s on a bed or rice/rice noodles. The ingredients were all fresh! That sauce did it for me though. Just make sure to have some gum handy afterward 😛
Good spot. We plan to be back with friends
