oysters were very poorly cleaned and poorly shucked. bits of shell and debris all over the shells and inside as well. really ruined my appetite to have to spit bits out every time. vinegar sauce is too watered down.
the fish is ok but the batter falls right off as soon as you take a bite or try to cut it. not as crispy as i would like and kinda squishy, especially on the shrimp. the chips were a bit undercooked and soft.
prices are okay, but execution is sub par. i’d come back, but only for the clam chowder.
Us feel very welcomed on a busy Sunday. Tom the Owner is a super guy who hires locals. The batter is not too oily and they definitely change the oil as it was fresh. Good Family Dinner Feeling. For couples recommend the Mr Fish Combo 2 Cod, 2 Shrimp and Calamari was perfect. Grab a beer and enjoy
* The Mr. Fish Combo 3/5 – Fries were dense and had a strong flavor. Maybe it was the type of potato used. The fish and shrimps were alright. The calamari was better.
* Smoked Seafood Chowder 3/5 – Tasted okay. The tomato flavor was pretty overwhelming. Wish they had a standard New England clam chowder.
Overall, we did enjoy it, and would recommend stopping by (:
