We wanted to hear a live band and dance. So we decided to grab a bite from the Cafe we ordered two nachos and some Posole. It took them some time to get our order to us and the nachos cheese was cold and had way too much jalapeños. We didn’t say anything I was almost finished when I find a cream cheese wrapper on the bottom. I went to tell the cashier and she said let me tell my manager. The manager never came but a cook did and gave me my money back. No sorry let me make you something different poor service.

NO!! BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE MOST DELICIOUS YET MOST AFFORDABLE GREEN CHILE STEW IN ABQ!!! And it not in a little cup, it’s a generous porting in a bowl served on a plate with 3 saltine packs and oyster crackers! Everytime I have gone there the soup is always F IN F I R E!!!
For $2.99 + tax (only $2.71 total – with a players card which I don’t always have on me) whenever I need a pick-me-up or a quick bite this place always treats me right. You can tell the staff love working there and also the carne asada fries and tacos are excellent! I only know this because my friends made me try theirs- because I ONLY ever get the soup!!! I will try any green chile stew on any menu, but until I find a better deal, The Downs Café has my entire heart!!!! ️

I had the green Chile cheeseburger, it was delicious! The Chile didn’t make my bun soggy, burger was juicy, fries were good. The lovely cashier had the cutest northerners accent Wisconsin or Minnesota.

After driving 55 minutes to spend a fun evening at the downs we get hungry. In the downs Cafe we were subject to the most incoherent staff member I have only seen in films. Looking at the menu we notice an item that didn’t look like the one we got last time. It’s seems the phrase, “how do we get nachos that look like that because last time it looked like an overpriced gas station nacho”. This poor lady was so confused she describes what we had last time. As they come out they look like the picture. Maybe that’s what should be done before hiring…match pictures. The receipt says her name is Diamond. Now she has failed at 2 jobs. Kicked out the dollar bill hotel and got lost at the what r nachos inn.
