Oof, I had high hopes going into this restaurant after reading reviews. It isn’t bad. We have had really good sushi and we have eaten at excellent sushi restaurants, so the standards are high.
The place is small, and we were seated at a table in between two other tables that were essentially connected, so you were so close to others that you could hear everything they were doing and saying the entire time. My water arrived with a hair on it, no big deal, just not going to drink it.
The main draw was the sushi. I ordered the Amarillo roll off of the sushi menu. It is not a sushi roll but just fried ingredients. See attached photo. My husband ordered the Shogun roll. It was ok. The avocado roll was ok as well. Service was fine.
Overall the experience was ok. I doubt we will return as we feel we have had better sushi elsewhere and the seating/atmosphere did not appeal to us.

My husband and I went on a date here. And we were thoroughly pleased with the atmosphere as well as the menu. My compliments to the chef! We did not meet him personally, but we were told he is Japanese and lived in Spain. From that background, he creates his menu of Japanese and Spanish fusion. It is very unique for the area and I was surprised to find something of this caliber and execution outside of Columbus and downtown Cincinnati. But I could not complain about the price point. (I’ve seen the things Speakeasy does in Troy and this chef could easily charge more. So glad he does not).
If you are looking for something beyond the nerd Japanese core offerings and truly desire a skilled chef making Japanese food, go here. You will not be disappointed.

Ulalala! That was a surprising gem! Dropped in after a day at the Tom’s maze. The combination of atmosphere, welcoming staff, and unique seasonal foods made our day complete! We stopped by for sushi but discovered multiple flavors!

Truly a unique gem in the Miamisburg area! Delicious cocktails and small plates. A great place to share multiple dishes. The ambience is modern but is a casual experience with fast, attentive service. The token machines in front are so cute and run about $4-5 per piece.

Me and my boyfriend always come her often due to it being probably the best food in miamisburg, everything tastes so fresh and delicious, the price isn’t bad at all especially with us getting lots a food when we usually come here, i definitely recommend the sashimi salad, the dressing is amazing and the cuts of fish are huge! Service is also very kind and always make us feel welcomed when we come in.

Highly recommend!
This was our first visit, but we plan to come back very often. Drinks were fun and delicious! The one came with a pixie stick to put in. The other had a colored cotton candy bomb. The Blackberry Smash had a little bit of spice that took it up a level compared to others we’ve had.
We are big sushi fans and absolutely loved all the rolls. The Iberian Roll was a great fusion of flavors!
Best of all: not badly priced!
3 Cocktails, 2 Tapas, 3 Sushi Rolls
Pre-tip price for everything: $92

They’ve been open a year and I have no idea why it took me so long to get there!
I had the oysters and ahi tuna. Both were fresh and tasty. Definitely on point with their sauce game as well.
I also got to chat with the owner which is always a treat!
If you’ve not been there yet, you definitely need to stop by soon!

I don’t post reviews a lot, but I would be doing a disservice to not write a review for SushiNero. It is by far one of the most exciting restaurants in Dayton. I’ve gone several times, and tried multiple dishes, and I haven’t had a bad one yet! The food is fresh and innovative, and we absolutely love the sushi. If you go, be sure to try the spicy tuna bites – I constantly crave them!

The sushi is also 10/10. This place deserves to be busy all the time, one of the best restaurants around! High quality food prepared with love. Service is also great!

SushiNero is one of my favorite restaurants in the Dayton area. The Banderilla roll is absolutely fantastic and the stuffed piquillo peppers are to die for. Pretty much everything on the menu we’ve tried has been good. While this is a fusion inspired restaurant with some experimental recipes, their flavor combinations are on point. Their drinks are also very good. One of the best restaurants in town for a date night!
