Unfortunately, my recent experience was completely different and many of the staff was new to me. I arrived 15 minutes after placing my order through the app, expecting a quick and easy pickup. Instead, I found a long line of in-store customers stretching all the way to the entrance. I bypassed that line, heading straight to the pickup area.
However, there were two staff members: one assisting the long line of in-store customers and another near the pickup area handing out the orders to customers. When I tried to get the attention of the staff member at the pickup area, she deliberately ignored me, forcing me to wait in silence for a minute. Eventually, when I spoke to the other staff member, I was told that even though I placed my order through the app, I still had to join the long line. This resulted in my order becoming cold by the time I got home, because I had to wait an additional 8-10 minutes in line.
The most upsetting part was the staff’s attitude and the lack of transparency. I was told that everyone has to join the line on Tuesdays, regardless of whether they order online or in-store. However, in the past, I have ordered online on Tuesdays many times, and my order was always handed to me at the pickup area.
So this is my question to the store manager: why should I bother placing an order through the app -supposedly for a quick pickup-after waiting 15 minutes in my car, if I still have to join a long line and wait an additional 5 to 10 minutes? Why am I required to stand in the same line as customers who are placing their orders in-store, when I intentionally ordered online to skip the line? Customers who order at the cash register receive their food in about five minutes while it’s still hot, yet my order is already ready by the time I arrive and continues getting colder as I’m forced to wait in line. What is the pickup sign even for? There is a large pickup sign clearly intended for online orders, yet staff members can suddenly change the “policy” by saying things like, “You have to join the line” or “There is no pickup area on Tuesdays,” without any signage stating this.
After this experience, it leaves me hesitant about returning to this location in the future. I hope KFC takes this feedback seriously and works to improve their service and cleanliness. Until then, I’ll have to reconsider where I spend my money.
This location is hard to find after dark. Maps takes you an interesting way. From the back with construction all around, askes you to to turn in early and it is very dark in the area
I ordered a Famous Bowl from the Baldwin Park location, and honestly, it was a major letdown. The food was cold, the chicken was dry and chewy, and the whole bowl lacked flavor — like it had been sitting there all day. The mashed potatoes were stiff, and the gravy had lost that fresh, savory taste. Hard to believe they’d actually serve chicken that old.
Now, to be fair, I’ve had the same bowl from the Glendora KFC, and it was delicious — hot, flavorful, and the chicken was crispy and fresh just like it should be. Big difference between the two locations. Baldwin Park really needs to step it up because Glendora clearly knows how to do it right.
Now, normally, I don’t like leaving 1 star reviews, but with a full staff of 4-5 I just hope the kitchen is not like the dining room.
Normally I go to churches across street, but my wife wanted to try kfc since she hasn’t had it since a kid. Food was good.
