Expect Mouth-watering experience upon entering!! All senses on high alert at this glorious bakery!! Cinnamon rolls that are the moistest and tastiest I have ever encountered!! My family and I make it our business to try everything that they display and we have never been let down!! Many types of delicious cookies, beautiful and yummy cupcakes, pecan bars and other bars, monster Rice Krispie treats, cake balls, delectable sugar cookies decorated and in different sizes, etc. The front and back crew are always working very hard while helping with a friendly smile, patience, and very knowledgeable with all the information regarding their goodies!! Sam and her Sugar Shack crew have been creating delicious desserts and beautifully decorated cookies for our family for years (since before she opened the New Lenox bakery). We have used them for every wedding shower, baby shower, celebration & event and have never been disappointed. They listen to every detail and create exactly what you want. Just last weekend they created the most amazing farmers market themed cookies in the perfect color scheme for my nieces baby shower! The best part is that not only does it look fabulous, everything tastes even better. From the cookies, cupcakes, fruit tarts & trifles to the pecan, lemon & cherry-almond bars, everything is delicious every time! But if you go to the bakery, the cinnamon rolls & homemade pop tarts are a must try. You won’t be disappointed!

I wanted to love this place but I wouldn’t recommend. The cheesecake was good but I sent in an inspo picture of a cheesecake that I wanted for a 30th “espresso martini” themed birthday. I communicated that I wanted a cheesecake to resemble the inspo. I wanted the presentation. I understand they couldn’t copy it exactly. I picked up a cheesecake with a presentation that I wanted to cry at when I looked at it. All the lady said was “im sorry you don’t like it, but it has the layers like the picture” . What happened to the top of the cheesecake presentation? I picked this up back in September and I’m still so confused on what happened and what I paid for. It was such a shame I spent $90 dollars on a cheesecake that I scrapped the toppings off and just sprinkled coca powder on to give it somewhat of the presentation that was expected. I really wanted to love this place but I wouldn’t go back. I cried. I cried because this cheesecake was the highlight of the dessert table. I really couldn’t believe what I picked up compared to what I asked for.

I’m new to the area and have already been here several times…. that should tell you everything! Everything I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious.
For Valentine’s Day, I picked up chocolate-covered strawberries, cannolis, and strawberry tiramisu. I’m Italian and we take our sweets very seriously — and the cannolis were truly outstanding. Perfectly crisp shells, amazing filling, and clearly fresh. The chocolate-covered strawberries were beautiful and not soggy at all, super fresh and perfectly done.
You can taste that everything is homemade. Even the whipped cream tastes like it’s made from scratch. I honestly haven’t had a single bad thing here.
And the rice pudding…To die for.
So happy to have found this place!

We are so lucky to have this little gem so close to us! It’s dangerous! We love literally everything we’ve tried. You can tell how much care and attention to detail goes into everything. And the best part – flavors are ALWAYS consistent. We try to get a little bit of a variety every time we go because in this family we love our sweets. We’ve been around since the days of pop ups at Gost Coffee and we’ve never been disappointed. So happy to see the success of this business, well deserved!

I have been ordering since before the store front and have never had a bad experience. The cookies are my absolute favorite. I haven’t tried anything I didn’t like. Service is always great and they are super friendly. My daughter also took a cookie decorating class last year. She had a blast.

The Sugar Shack has a wonderful variety of homemade treats to choose from. Everything is fresh and baked from scratch, not to mention absolutely delicious. I like that they also have gluten-free items available. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and this little gem of a bakery is worth the trip. I would highly recommend the homemade pop tarts.

These custom cookies completely exceeded my expectations — they were pure perfection. Each one was a tiny work of art, beautifully detailed and completely on theme. I couldn’t get over how precise and clean the designs were — they looked too pretty to eat, but I’m so glad we did because they were just as delicious as they were gorgeous! Soft, buttery, and full of flavor. I was truly impressed by the quality and the artistry. These cookies made such a special touch to our celebration, and I would recommend this baker to anyone looking for show-stopping sweets.

I ordered custom Moana cookies for my daughter’s 5th birthday from sugar shake for the first time. We will definitely be ordering for her birthday every year.
