And must I say it’s just beyond amazing! As a Mumbaikar, I can vouch that their taste is exactly what I have been dreaming to have in US and they delivered that taste with quality. Must try for sure. We drove 1/2 hr for this and it was 100% worth it. Thoughtfully packed, they have a drive thru & sitting. We loved the vada pav, missal pav, kokam sharbat! Had a lovely chat with Mr. Kiran & his partner. Serving with love & warmth! Will come back soon!
We ordered the Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Tiranga Maggi, Chicken Frankie and Sabudana Vada, all competing with each other for what was the best! And what was even better? It was all ready by the time we drove to the payment window! Amazing food and killer idea, Kiran and Bhagyashri have started something which is going to change the Indian food scene in all of Texas and North America soon.
Their Pav Bhaji was also good, it had a great home made taste and was not oily at all – plus the Pav served with it was a yummy masala Pav!
Atmosphere: Seating options are picnic tables as this is an outdoor food truck park – however there are ants around and of course mosquitoes so come prepared with insect repellent if you’re someone that bugs like to single out.
First visit:
We visited Zatka Vada Pav today on a friends recommendation. We got the Vada Pav, Paneer Frankie, Chicken Frankie, Misal Pav, Tea, and Koum sarbat.
The Vada Pav was quite good, tasted homemade, although I wouldn’t say it’s the best in the area.
The Misal Pav was really good, good amount of spice/oil and they give the farsan in a separate paper bag so it doesn’t get soggy!
The Kokomo sarbat was really good, refreshing without being too sweet (the next time we visit I’ll be sure to ask how they make it and if they add any sugar to it!).
Both the Frankies were tasty and felt quite authentic although for the size of the roll they were kind of pricey at $10 each.
The food truck is located In a food truck park with 3-4 other trucks, there are lots of picnic tables around.
Definitely one of the best vadapavs in Austin!!
What really stood out to us—besides the food—was the polite and welcoming service. The staff was friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they’re serving. We also loved the concept: simple, clean, nicely packaged food with a strong focus on taste and authenticity.
