Worth the detour.
Their fried okra reminded me of my grandpa’s homegrown okra. Ate the entire side on my own and didn’t share.
The hot link was delicious. Potato and coleslaw was tasty and full of flavor. Tender smoked meats and refreshing fresh brewed iced tea.

The food was okay. Not great, but edible. My beef, which didn’t have a smoked flavor, was not hot or even warm. The beans and potato salad were simple, but also edible and filling.
The prices seem reasonable for what you get. The restaurant doesn’t have much atmosphere, but the people running it (owners?) seemed nice.

Had carry out. 1st time here. I got chopped BBQ sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad. Sandwich was good. Potato salad was made with mustard which I am nit a fan of but it did taste good. Coleslaw was just mayo and cabbage which was ok. Will go back but get different sides. Also had an unsweetened tea which tasted great.

Asked for chopped dry, they covered it in bland sause. Brisket didn’t have a smokey taste and was bland it’s self. Sausage taste cheap and dry. I feel pretty certain it was cooked in an oven. My toast was a lightly toasted bun with no butter. Beans were bland and potatoe salad taste like a tub from walmart. Stuffed pepers were good but no ranch available. Cashier is very blah like. When we walked up, we weren’t greeted but instead just starred at. Just not a very good experience considering we come through Bonham and decided we’d shop local trying to support small business. Burned this time I guess.

Man behind the counter had an unpleasant attitude, young woman working with him looked unhappy. Brisket was cold, gray, and lacking any real flavor. Ham was pale, sweet and not smokey. Sausage had alright flavor but was on the dry side. The sauce was watery. Cole slaw was very salty. There is potential but overall no passion exhibited in the meats, and the meat is what makes a BBQ joint.

Went in to order. They were busy. Woman working the counter did several nasty things that made me say “I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!” Ice machine door left open. She put her hands on the backside inside touching the skin to pull her pants up. Has a baby in the back, came and refilled sippie cup not washing her hands at all during her touching money baby and different surfaces throughout the store. What topped it off, she scratched her head and straight to touching a customer’s bun!!!!! Disgusting When I told her I saw her scratch her head and touched customers bun it made them mad. I don’t even give this place a one star.
