This place truly surprised me, it’s amazing.

Living right next to The Junction, I usually just went there for the first month I lived on campus. I did finally drag myself over to the TSC to try The Marketplace though, and it was so worth it.

While The Junction has a pretty narrow range of cuisine, The Marketplace has a little taste of everything. There’s a chef’s line which I find is pretty solid, a Mexican-inspired place named Cafe Solana similar to Chipotle, a Mongolian grill called Blue Dragon that reminds me of Zao, a grill serving American fare, pizza, pasta, salads, you name it. They also have a much better selection of desserts compared to the Junction. Here, you can find Aggie Ice Cream, smoothies, and such; nowhere to be found at the Dirty J.

The quality of the food is very good. I’ve only had Blue Dragon, chef’s line, and Cafe Solana food, but they’ve all been delicious. The food came out quick enough (not any longer than 15 minutes), and it was plenty hot when I picked it up. The food isn’t nearly as greasy as food from the J, especially from the Blue Dragon within.

While the Junction makes me feel like a fool for buying a meal plan (even though I had no choice USU), The Marketplace makes it feel like a bargain.

As if it couldn’t get any better, the place is usually clean, the staff are very friendly, and the soda machines are ACTUALLY STOCKED (cough cough Junction)!

I will say that I would appreciate if the tables were cleaned more regularly. It can be a bit difficult at times to find a clean table with a green octagonal card. The consistency of portions can also be improved. Sometimes I get a noodle bowl that’s overflowing (yay good), and sometimes I get one that’s not even halfway full (booo. boooo). It’s all-you-can-eat though, so this can be rectified by just getting more food.

Overall, I’m glad that this place exists. While it’s not the most glamourous restaurant, it’s great for a dining hall. It’d be great if Dining Services overhauled The Junction to be more like The Marketplace.

Started with a noodle bowl, feels like a mini HuHot which is nice. Picked up a poppy seed muffin and peanut butter cookies. Ordered a beef burrito with salsa verde (had a little kick without being over powering), among other items I had for lunch. This is my first time reviewing this place, but third time coming to the establishment. I give all the stars because I love this place that much! Whether you’re into pasta bars, salad, pizza, grilled items (burgers/chicken sandwiches/tenders), sweets, common Mexican (burritos, tacos, nachos etc), there is an assortment of things to pick up or order that anyone should be able to find what they fancy.

My taco smelled like weed but not in a bad way. One time I was craving IKEA food and they had Swedish food the next meal. Definitely better than the junction but it’s ok overall

love most of the food, but recently as in just now I got a bowl with noodles and shrimp and the shrimp was raw so… don’t get the shrimp here! I guess I should have known not to trust seafood here, but that’s my mistake. otherwise good

The Marketplace is an alright place to eat on USU campus. It’s a little pricey (especially if you get a meal plan), but hey, at least you get a decent number of options to choose from. There’s Mexican food, Asian food, American food, the Chef’s Line with different dishes every day, pizza, pasta (put it in the box), sandwiches, salads, soda, and plenty of dessert options. Unfortunately, the food is usually mediocre, the atmosphere isn’t great, and it gets so busy sometimes that it can be hard to find a place to sit, even with all the tables there. 3 stars for being “just okay.”

I really liked that you have so many options. The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t amazing either, it was good; but it’s nice that it’s all you can eat and the potions are large. I would go there again.

USU dining is a disgrace for the amount of money that it costs. This is what they call a burrito. Get it together. The QR codes to scan and order is embarrassing.

It started off with a horrible server who had no clue what she was doing and forgot about us multiple times. Our waters were served to us in dirty dishes, and because we were forgotten about, we had to go back inside to get new waters and remind the server we were sitting outside. After about a thirty minute wait, we got our food, some of which was wrong and we had to have taken off the bill. After we finally left, some people in my party were sick from the food. I would avoid this place like the plague.
