2026/2/4 Wednesday. I am very very upset with Karihan filipino Restaurant in National City, SD. CA. At 1:p.m. today, I asked my husband to order for me Sinegang soup & Pancit. To me, Karihan has the best Pancit Bihon I’ve ever had! I can’t find anywhere in SD that has as good or better pancit bihon than Karihan. Well, a great disappointment awaited me.I was angry & dissatisfied with the Foods. The Sinegang only had BONES in it, no meat what so ever! The Pancit Bihon was very hot & Spicy. If the cook didn’t use hot pepper to pizzazz the food, then he must’ve dropped a whole bottle or container of black pepper while cooking the pancit!! It also had a dark coloration. It must be a new Cook for the pancit bihon because it didn’t taste the same as I loved it. Right away, I threw them both in the trash. Such a waste of my money!! When my husband walked into the restaurant, he said ‘the Workers’ were all sitting down at the dining area. I am appalled at what happened!! I have the flu & I was craving Sinegang because of the soup. But there is no meat but just bones with little fats on it. What kind of Sinegang soup is that! The taste is there but it smelt fishy! It shouldn’t because of the its not fish. I couldn’t keep eating but a few bites of the pancit because of its spiciness & I take acid reflux due to GERD disease. Please check into this matter immediately so that you can rectify this problem. Its sad that not much Customers get food from Karihan anymore. I’ve been going there for years, but it’s not as busy or not busy at all nowadays. I tried to Upload the photos through Google but it wouldn’t upload.

My wife and I want to sincerely thank all the staff at Karihan. We had a party planned for 20 people, with food from Karihan. Somehow the need date got confused – the date on the order for pickup was 8 days AFTER the party was to happen. On very short notice, Karihan brought staff in from home and made all the needed food in less than an hour. The party was saved. Thank you VERY MUCH. dan and lilly kittredge

Good Vibe. Ordered food to go. Food are OK. I ordered 2 combo with both rice, 1 combo have rice menudo and sisig and the other combo have rice, kare kare no bagoong and the fish with egg and tomato $36 total.

It was my first time having Filipino food. Everything tasted fresh. I was not prepared for bones being in Milkfish. More me not knowing what I am doing than a comment on them. Service was excellent.

The sisig, tortang talong, igado, and pancit were really good. They give crazy overflowing portions, which is not typical of Filipino turo-turo places. Also, one of the employees, Ace, was super hilarious! The place was a little dated, but we were truly happy with the flavors of the food.

The server was coughing over the food multiple times with no attempt to cover her mouth. She seemed more focused on her phone conversation than taking my order. When she finally hung up, I was informed that they were out of the item I wanted. The store was completely empty, and the food looked old. I don’t understand how this place stays in business.

The lady at the counter was incredibly nice and gave us samples of many of the entrees. We got a combo but she gave us huge portions, filled the whole box with pancit and gave us two separate large containers of meat. Tasted great too, will definitely be back!

Overall this place was great. I must note that I have eaten here once so far and I will definitely be back. The food was fresh and the servings are HUGE! The only thing that almost beat their height of food piled on my plate, was the customer service. Friendly, fast and clean. They utilized gloves properly and I witnessed not one instance of cross contamination.
The reason I am giving them 4 stars, for now, is due to the fact that they did not, and probably will not, serve garlic rice, lumpia, and sweet fried bananas. A personal preference for me but I know many foodies that this may be a deal breaker.
