Coffee Shop and Bakery does not say how fabulous the food is. Small business charm , personalized service, but phenomenal food! Our group ordered lunch Tortellini Soup, Rueben, and Burger, and we were all very pleased. One taste of the Tortellini Soup, and I ordered a carryout for supper. A must stop every time I come home to Southetn Indiana. It’s definitely worth seeking out this place. Limited tables, limited parking. If I were local, I would be a regular customer.

I have always enjoyed bistros and coffee shops. Both working in them as a chef and finding the one in a big city that gives you an amazing experience during a vacation.
I was very excited and proud to have this in my hometown, so far from the cities, yet equally charming. I don’t go there every day, I can make a good coffee myself. But I will stop in for my Redeye & heavy foam, which they do very well. A rarity in such a small community.
The baked goods change often, and look amazing. Varying from cookies to scones and more traditional coffee shop fare. What i have had is generally pretty good. The best part is they are all made on site. Another amazing part about this gem.

My last visit, i decided to get the full coffee shop/bistro experience, on the go.
My coffee, a sandwich, and something from the baked goods.
It was a Wednesday afternoon at lunch, I ordered my Redeye and slowly decided on a Ham and Cheese and a chocolate cake donut…..
Working in multiple bistros in my life, I know a ham and cheese is super fast and easy to make. They can be made quickly and fresh, on short order, while the customer waits for there coffee. Because good coffee takes time. And in a small town, there isn’t a line around the corner at noon on a Wednesday.
I would be happy to pay $6 for a simple fresh sandwich.
I was handed a bag containing my $6 Ham & Cheese. Which came out of the oven…..already wrapped in foil.
The croissant was dry as a bone, the whole sandwich was a deflated rubber disaster. Unfortunately I didn’t find this out till i was down the road.
I messaged them, before writing this.
The response was childish.
The chocolate “cake donut”….. was a “donut cake”…. literally
My coffee…… pretty darn good, as always!

I always enjoy the food, the staff, and the coffee. Very good variety, and the staff are genuinely friendly. The pricing is good as well, and I can say that I’ve never had a poor experience here. They do great!
