We came in for a late lunch/early dinner. My husband ordered the Guiso A La Mexicana and really enjoyed it — the flavors were excellent, though there was a bit more sauce than expected. I ordered the Carne Asada and absolutely loved it. The flavor was spot on, and the meat was neither dry nor overcooked like I’ve experienced at other places.
Service was good overall, though it did take a little while for our waiter to check on us. Still, our experience was great, and we will definitely be coming back to try more dishes.
Lots of large tvs, comfortable seating, and numerous stools at a darker/relaxing bar.
Chips and salsa offered complimentary were good; salsa tasty. Chips room temp.
Large portions.
Son really enjoyed the brisket sandwich; ironically the only non-mexican food we had.
The rest of us had the Quesadillas Monterrey and one the mad burrito plate. One ordered light cheese but still came with huge amount of cheese. Quesadillas were very greasy and the meat had almost no seasoning.
Rice was decent; beans were okay.
Drinks were very sweet; top shelf margarita was tasty with clear agave but very sweet. If you like it on the medium to low side you may wish to mention that.
I ordered the burrito chihuahua, and it came without the Crema Mexicana. It had very little meat (pastor), to the point where I wondered if they forgot to put it in all together. It was honestly primarily rice and cheese. The flavor was somewhat bland due to the lack of meat/crema. I smothered it in salsa to make it better, the salsa was very good. For over $16 I feel it should’ve come with rice and beans as well.
My wife got the Platillo Monterrey and liked it, i tried the sauces they were good.
The chili cheese fries were very soft, and I’m pretty sure they were frozen packaged fries. If it’s not something you do well I’d leave it off the menu. They were lacking in toppings overall with many bare and soft fries. Not very good.
I’ll probably try this place again. I’m sure it’s good when it’s good, but overall I was very disappointed. I feel the total cost should’ve been way less for the quality and quantity of the food.
I didn’t have much time, which is why I ordered ahead.
Definitely one of the best tortas that I’ve eaten. I ordered the chicken torta which was delicious. Was surprised to see a slice of ham on it though. So that might be an issue for people who don’t eat pork.
The refried bean flavor and quality was excellent. The fries were hot and fresh.
My only complaint (mostly a pet peeve) is that when I walked into the establishment, it took a while to get acknowledged.
I did see a podium at the front where a hostess would normally stay on, but no one was there.
I just wanted to get the attention of the people for the pickup order that I had already placed.
It was still being worked on, so I would have had to wait anyways but I was still annoyed to have been standing there with no one seeing me.
After I brought it to someone’s attention, things with smoothly. My food arrived shortly after, by a friendly staff.
To give them the benefit of the doubt, I did stop by during the lunch hour so maybe they were busy with other orders(although there weren’t that many people in the restaurant at the time).
In any case, I will be back. The food was delicious and filling. I could only eat half of the torta after eating the fries. It was a good meal to keep me fueled up for the rest of my pet sit
