The food truly stands out. Their waffles are made fresh from scratch and you can absolutely taste the difference. Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and everything feels thoughtfully prepared. The menu offers a great mix of indulgent and creative options—from specialty waffles and exquisite desserts to savory sandwiches and their delicious house-made ice creams. Every visit feels like a treat and something new to try.
Another thing I love is their food truck concept. Mochi Cafe takes the same quality and flavor on the road with smash burgers, croissant sandwiches, and beverages, popping up all over Jacksonville, Clay County, Nassau, and St. Johns. It’s so convenient to check their live calendar online and plan a visit when they’re nearby.
If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, welcoming vibes, and great value, Mochi Cafe is a must-visit. Highly recommend supporting this local spot—you’ll definitely want to come back again and again!
* Smash Burger Croissant: I’ve had many smash burgers, but serving it on a flaky, buttery croissant is a total level-up. The texture contrast is perfect.
* Bacon Smash Burger Croissant: My son grabbed this one and it disappeared in record time. High-quality bacon and perfectly seared beef.
* Bacon Cheese Fries: These were the perfect side—loaded, crispy, and definitely not stingy with the toppings.
Beyond the food, the truck itself has a great vibe and the service was spot on. We’ll definitely be hunting this truck down again soon!
The delightful smell of freshly cooked waffles and cones upon entering made our mouths water.
In essence, the name of the ice cream shop and it’s connection to the owner’s dog suggests a place that is more than just an ice cream shop, but a true community gem, radiating warmth, deliciousness, and a whole lot of tail-wagging charm.
This is definitely THE ice cream shop to visit!!!
Based on the photos and the menu we saw online, we were genuinely excited about this location. The pictures looked great, the menu sounded appealing, and the reviews were excellent. Unfortunately, the real experience did not live up to those expectations.
When we arrived, the space felt very basic—just regular tables and chairs, with no special décor or atmosphere that stood out. It didn’t feel like a place designed to create a memorable experience. The food itself was also disappointing. While the service was actually very good—the person who greeted us was hospitable and did their best to help—we struggled to decide what to order because the options were limited and not very appealing.
In the end, we ordered a minimal dessert with condensed milk and bananas, along with a latte and a matcha coffee. The food was so underwhelming that we didn’t even feel like taking photos of it.
Another major issue was that we specifically chose this location after checking online and seeing that they supposedly offer dairy-free options. One of us has a dairy allergy. However, when we arrived, there were no suitable dairy-free options available. This felt misleading and was very disappointing. As a result, one of our children ended up having something she didn’t really want, instead of the ice cream she was excited for.
Would we return to this place? Unfortunately, no. We look for places that offer a great atmosphere and a true experience for families—and that’s the most important factor for us. This location didn’t deliver on the atmosphere, the food, or the expectations set online.
Sadly, it’s a no for this location.
What really sold me was the texture play — the croissant’s delicate crunch against the bold, rich burger, paired with the warm, gooey cheese. It felt indulgent but not heavy. If you’re looking for something more creative than a regular bun-and-patty burger, this is a must-try.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting comfort food with a twist.
Got the Bacon Croissant Sandwich, it was great, buttery, flaky and perfectly warm. It came with a salad which didn’t disappoint, greens were fresh and dressing was delicious!! Would add a photo but it’s gone it was so good!
