I haven’t been to the Lucky Star in a couple of years. I just ordered tonight and I’m pleasantly surprised. The prices are affordable and huge portion sizes. The food is good too! If you haven’t been to the Lucky Star in a while, I encourage you to try it again!

Excellent chinese food , what I would expect from a chinese restaurant. The food was very flavorful, definitely not bland. This included, the Chicken Chow Mein, the Roasted Pork Lo Mein, and the Pork Fried Rice. Chicken Chow Mein had nice chunks of white chicken and vegetables. Roasted Pork Lo Mein had nice slices of roasted pork with the noodles that was cooked perfectly. The chicken wings were nice , large wings , not small useless bites, well season with a very crunchy exterior. The egg roll was sized more like a burrito and very tasty with a very crunchy shell. The roasted pork(ribs) had an awesome taste and was tender.
We order the luncheon specials and dined in the small table area. I was surprised by the amount of food we received, definitely your not go to leave hungry! Also Lucky Star is gear more towards take orders but still has a small but comfortable dining area. I would happily return to the restaurant at a later date.

the food was absolutely amazing! i had orange chicken dinner combo and my fiance got the option c from the ABC section, plus one order of rangoons. the portions were INSANE! $45 is going to feed us both 3 times! i consider myself a bit of a food snob, but everything was pretty amazing. the orange chicken had a beautiful crunch, and a perfect not too sweet not too tangy sauce. the rangoons had a fantastic filling, not too cream cheesy and not too sweet but perfectly combined for an amazing taste.
you know how sometimes the tea at chinese restaurants is a bit bitter? this one was spot on!! and the tea is free for all i love it here and i will be coming back every single time im in the area!
the service at the front desk was stellar as well, very personably and friendly staff. extremely kind folks over there! very attentive & professional!

I am here visiting family and was craving Chinese food from my home state. I used to frequent yummy house in Sandford as a teen and young adult but last time I was there it tasted nothing like it used to. That being said I did some looking around and reading reviews until I came across lucky star. I decided to order pick-up. When we arrived there was a very polite young man behind the counter. He was pleasant to interact with and the food was ready at the time promised online. Upon looking around the restaurant itself, I was happy to see it was very clean and the tables well organized. I was surprised how heavy the food was but I had read they gave you a decent amount. At home I finally got to open up our food which smelled delicious the whole car ride back. I got the #2 delight, veg fried rice, and an order of sweet and sour chicken. I had thought the chicken came with its own white rice but perhaps I was mistaken but I’m happy to say my daughter likes the sauce. The food looked fresh and appetizing. The tenders and beef teriyaki were amazing! I am a huge fan of bbq pork and although they were tasty I wished they were more saucy. I didn’t eat the egg roll because I don’t like them but it looked good too. My only complaint would be the vegetable fried rice. One because it had big chunks of green pepper which overpowered the seasoning of the rice but the worst part was that it tasted burnt. In the photo it looked like the veg rice would be mainly carrots onion and peas like im used to. If peppers are a norm for them thats fine but I wouldnt have put them in personally. My daughter and I both love fried rice so that was pretty disappointing. Although it was a hefty helping $7 of inedible food pleases no one. Regardless of this I still think this place was worth ordering from and that others should try it too. I did see a very old review about burnt rice and thought it was a fluke but maybe just stay away from the rice? See photo for reference. You can see little burnt pieces.

I am not sure if they owned it back then, but I would come here a growing up, every year as a faimly we would order as a faimly when I was a child so I have a ton of positive nostalgic feelings here. would have leftovers for days. I strongly suggest getting a dinner or lunch specials they are a great amount of food for the money. It is probably one of the best Chinese restaurant in Southern Maine. The staff my last visit was incredible. It’s a kennebunk staple.

Always went there for there fried dumplings, finally for a chance to go back, and they changed there dumplings very very disappointed. Way to much cabbage honestly ruins the entire meal. Won’t be going back.

This is a great little restaurant with amazing food! You will easily have enough for 2 meals. I had the orange chicken. It came with 2 teriyaki chicken skewers, pork fried rice (the best I have had!) And a spring roll. Owner is just the sweetest person. We were visiting from PA and will definitely stop the next time we are in the area!

First bad experience here. I spent $18 for leftover microwaved food! I called immediately. The woman remembered my order; was apologetic and issued me a full refund. I hesitate to return. We shall see.
