Absolutely terrible experience — never again.
This was hands down one of the worst takeout experiences I’ve had. The food was awful: bland, greasy, and tasted like it had been sitting around far too long. Nothing was fresh, and my wife’s was completely inedible.
To make matters worse, they messed up our order — missing items and incorrect dishes — and when we called to let them know, they refused to make it right. No apology, no replacement, no refund. Just attitude and excuses, as if the mistake was somehow our problem.
Mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles them says everything. In this case, the customer service was just as bad as the food. If you care at all about quality, accuracy, or being treated with basic respect, save your money and go literally anywhere else.

The woman working there was so nice, exceptional customer service. I got the fried rice and it was so good it had my tongue tingling, most places try to avoid MSG because of outdated racist marketing, but it is no more harmful for you than salt. I could taste it in the rice and it was delicious, I haven’t had fried rice that good in decades. Will be back soon!

I have been dining at this restaurant for years now (since 9, I am 17 now.) and all I can say is how incredibly stellar and amazing this place is. Its carried me through birthdays, big events, graduations, surprise meals, and even just a lunch or comfort meal. Every. Single.
Time. I have ordered, the food was always hot, fresh, prepared on time with the quality it needed and deserved, and the wonderful lady who works at the front has AMAZING customers service. I go to New China for my lunch breaks and im always left fufilled. Even if you only have a 15 minute break you can call an order in, and be done within the time limit. Portions are incredibly reasonable, Prices are great, If you’re new to South Hill I NEED you to come here for authentic and delicious chinese food. Thank you always New China! Till Next Time!

Love coming here for my pregnancy cravings! Both workers are extremely sweet, I usually don’t have to wait no longer than 15 minutes for my food! I wish this place was getting the recognition that they deserve!

Very odd set up (Dec 25, 2022). You had to order through a window that was partly made with cardboard.
Food tasted like burned oil.
To me, personally, it looked like someone who is afraid of human interaction and wanted to be closed off from the world.
Eating out or take out is about the experience and not just the flavors. This place missed all the marks.

Ordered egg rolls. They are smaller than some other restaurants, and have an old corn oil aftertaste. It’s just like some other reviewers state, the oil should really be changed. It ruined the taste of the food. The gentleman at the window was cordial though.

Stopped here on 16Jan22 after work. I ordered the chicken n broccoli with white rice. After getting home I opened the container and noticed an odd smell immediately. The food seem to have been left out since early morning because it had soured. They will not be getting my business again. Wasted money and time.

I love Chinese food but this was absolutely the worst Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. The rice was old and gritty. The rib tips tasted so old and bad, and the teriyaki chicken was greasy and full of fat. The food smelled horrible as well. I threw the plate away.
