We stopped in on our first night to Big Sky and were impressed by the atmosphere when we walked in. It doesn’t feel like a hotel restaurant. But unfortunately for us, the atmosphere was the highlight as we had some notable issues with our food and the pace of service.
For dinner I tried the wagyu burger and my son ordered the steak frites. The steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked perfectly. The burger however was very disappointing. It was ordered medium but was way overcooked with no redness at all to the meat; and you can see from the picture how sad the tomato which came on the side was. It was soft and wilted, probably because it was pre-cut hours (or even days) before and left to sit. Also, both orders of fries which came with the entrees were lukewarm and not crispy at all, likely because the meals were sitting under a heat lamp for awhile waiting to be served.
Our waiter was very nice but seemed like he might have been a bit overwhelmed that night. In addition to some issues with the food which may have been sitting for awhile, I wondered earlier on if he forgotten about my beer that I ordered when it took close to 15 minutes for it to be brought to the table.
There are a lot of really positive reviews here so if/when we are back in Big Sky we will probably give it another shot and hopefully find out that this was just a one-off disappointing experience.

Incredible service and atmosphere! The food was wonderful, and the menu offered extremely local game options. I highly recommend the sampler plate and maple bacon side dish.

Came across Block 3 on Open Table and read mixed reviews. No idea what the detractors were complaining about. The service, food and environment were all stellar. Our waiter and supporting staff were all amazing. Very knowledgeable and helpful in deciding what to order. We got the tartare trio app which was to die for. I got the crab crusted cod and my wife got the half chicken which was delicious, cooked perfectly and huge. It was also much less expensive than some of the inferior places we’ve dined at. I immediately started recommending this place to people we met this evening. I will definitely return next time we’re in town

The space is very nice, beautiful bar area and great service at the bar. We ordered appetizers, salads and entrees at the same time as the waiter asked to space out our meal, and it ended up taking almost 2 hours to get our food. The food was ok, but not worth the cost. e.g. $90 Ribeye was fine…

The space was absolutely beautiful but unfortunately that was the only positive about the experience. The service was extremely slow for a Wednesday from drinks, appetizers, to entree. There were two servers working the entire restaurant, and to their credit they were working very hard but the rest of the establishment was extremely slow. The entrees were very overpriced for the quality of food offered, especially the “elk rack” which came prepared as two very petit incorrectly cooked pieces of elk for over $65. We were all very disappointed in our experience and would expect more from an establishment that claims to be exceptional dining in Big Sky.

The spot is in a great location for Big Sky and offers a lovely ambiance. However, we had a bit of an unpleasant time with the service being curt about seating options, a 5 minute delay to our reservation, and slow to receive service despite being one of three tables filled. Besides the delays and tone, the spot was great for a work dinner if not a little pricey. Great cocktails

We decided to book a reservation at Block3 despite some of the negative reviews – we should have listened. We arrived ~25 minutes early but were able to get seated right away as our table was ready. However, our drinks took almost 30 minutes despite us ordering right away. Our apps also took forever. The food was ok, but extremely overpriced. 2 people in our group orders the elk “rack” and it was no joke 2 rib bones per person….for $65…..

Oh, and there is a mandatory 20% gratuity charge for parties 6+ people, regardless of the experience you have.

Please take this as a sign and go somewhere else.

Block 3 is sexy!!!! The restaurant is located inside of the Wilson hotel in town center. The location is ideal especially for dinners heading into a night out. Popular for vacationers and locals this place consistently serves delicious food and impeccable service. AGM Colin is attentive and passionate. Our server Gabbie was astute and spot on with her recommendations.
My friends and I came here for cocktails and dinner and we ate like kings.
For cocktails we had the vest chic se freak which was delicious and refreshing! The you autumn know was warm and pretty, and the Caribbean queen was something straight out of a tropical vacation.
The duck confit is absolutely outstanding! The flavors were fresh and the goat cheese in the salad added a great creamy element. The charcuterie board was beautiful and so delicious. The fondue was the only thing I wasn’t crazy about. The cheese lacked a little luster compared to the other starters.
Our entrees were so flavorful and perfectly portioned! The chicken pared with the garlic herb butter is a must!
Desert certainly did not disappoint! We ordered everything because why not! I highly recommend the pear crumble and cheesecake. We will certainly be coming back to Block 3!

Came here for dinner. Good and busy service. Love the live music and the vibe. Food doesn’t stand out and is overpriced.

✨✨✨Trio of game tartare: a selection of elk, bison, and wagyu tartare. It’s nicely presented but could use more flavor – especially for the lack of mustard seed. We were halfway finished until our server got the time to tell us which is which.

✨✨✨Lobster Mac and cheese: nothing to complain.

✨✨✨bison ribeye: perfect temperature. But it should’ve sat on a hot plate for serving. Also it lacks seasoning – no salt or pepper at all.

✨✨Red deer sirloin: ingredients are fresh. However the portion size is really small given the price and again, lack of seasonings.

Given the price of the entrees and the taste, I’m not really recommending this place unless you are in the mood for steaks.

They only take walk-ins at the bar.
