⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Experience at Sora & Oak!
We visited Sora & Oak during Sandusky Restaurant Week, and it was hands-down a great dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, but the service and food truly stole the show.
The Service
Our server, Scotty, was phenomenal. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a great energy that made our night feel special. It’s rare to find a server who balances professionalism with such a friendly, personal touch. To top it off, the owner took the time to come over to our table to chat with us. It’s clear they truly care about their guests and the community.
The Food
The kitchen staff is clearly operating at a master level. We tried the Restaurant Week menu, and every dish was a work of art:
• Whisky Steak Tataki: This was an incredible starter. The New York strip was seared to perfection, and the Toki Suntory Whisky marinade added a depth of flavor that was perfectly balanced by the zing of the wasabi dressing.
• Double Dragon Rolls: A total powerhouse of a dish. The contrast between the spicy, torched heat of the Fire Dragon and the savory, rich depth of the Black Dragon was genius. The freshness of the seafood and the precision of the rolls show just how talented the kitchen team is.

We enjoyed our duck, and the sushi. The Monkey Brain appetizer (fried stuffed avocado- contains no real monkey for the queasy folks) was out of this world. We are proud foodies, and this will be a guaranteed stop anytime we are in Sandusky. Food really doesn’t get better than this. We already started eating by the time I remembered to take pictures for reviews.

My husband and I came here for Valentine’s Day and it did not disappoint!! The interior is beautiful and the atmosphere is amazing! The staff/service was great! The sushi is the show stopper!! It was some of freshest and most delicious sushi we’ve ever had and the spicy tuna wonton nachos were fantastic! We both agreed that the “OH BABY” roll was the BEST sushi roll we’ve ever had and our meal all together was arguably the best sushi we’ve had in Ohio!!

This place is amazing!! Delicious and fun, yet intimate atmosphere and the best sushi and drinks!! Huge thanks and shout out to Scotty who was attentive, made the perfect drinks -lychee martini was hands down the best and I haven’t been able to find any place or person that makes it that good! We just happened to come across this restaurant while searching on Google for a place to eat lunch. Let me tell you, we were very pleasantly surprised!! From the moment we walk in till the moment we left everything was awesome!! The place has a great atmosphere, quality sushi, and friendly service!! The food was great!! I loved that the tea is served in a pot for multiple servings. If you go, you must try the Salmon Bao buns for an appetizer. They will not dissapoint. We Also had salmon Nigiri and Eel Nigiri for an appetizer and it was on point! We ordered 3 amazing sushi rolls, and even a cheesecake that was to die for!!! I believe it was a white chocolate raspberry…. We didnt have any of the alcohol drinks because I was shopping with my daughter before she goes back to college and neither of us were really feeling like it. However, they have an amazing drink selection!! We will definitely make this a trip each time my kid comes home from Campus. This is by far the best sushi in the area!!!

We went for an impromptu date night and were very happy. The special Sushi Charcuterie board was fun and beautiful! The Bibimbap did not disappoint, it was like a warm hug. Our server was really attentive, some of the best service we have had in Sandusky. I highly recommend Sora & Oak when you are in town.
