Nearly two years after the Old World Deli closed its doors, a new business has opened at the downtown Binghamton location.

First time here under the new ownership. The atmosphere was clean with a new paint job. The drafty old windows in the front have been replaced and overall the place looked good. The menu is simple and easy to read. I ordered a ham and cheese on an artisan cheese roll. Both the meat and veggies were sliced fresh. The portion size was good as the meat was stacked in the roll.
I got the lunch special of sub, salad and fountain drink which was a reasonable deal. I noticed advertising posted that they were accepting coupons as from Save Around books even though they expired last year as a 10% discount That’s awesome.
The only needing improvement feedback I have is the pasta salad was a bit bland for my liking.

Much improved! Old owner is back in charge. Totally cleaned it up. Now doing fresh baked bread. Also, they are now using Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. BIG Improvement

Great place. One of the gems I found in Bing during my four years here. Super friendly staff and food is even better. The worse thing is probably the fact it is located right next to the gym. I would go to the gym only to be tempted for a sandwich. No gains for me.

the Old World Deli is one of those hidden gems in Binghamton. Often times overlooked in a time of hunger. Have always much enjoyed what they do there. However, upon ordering the “Combo” this afternoon, I watched as the attendant sent my protein through the microwave, and again sent it through the microwave to melt the cheese… little things like this ruin a what could be marvelous experience. Is it difficult to throw the meat on a flat top and melt the cheese atop at the same time? I think not. Let’s get it together Broome County small businesses. As if we are not suffering enough. Oversights like these will be our downfall. Take pride in our businesses. Take pride in what we feed our followers. Take pride and be AWESOME!!!

The pasta salad was nothing like the picture which is what I ordered, it tasted like oil and pasta with some veggies. (See pictures to understand) Same with the macaroni salad, it was tasteless and looked nothing like what I ordered. The first picture (macaroni salad) is what I thought I’d get, the second picture (macaroni salad) is what I got. And the third picture (pasta salad) is what I thought I’d get, and the fourth picture (pasta salad) is what I got.

I can’t believe I have never tried this place before. I had a simple sub but it was outstanding. The bread and cold cuts were excellent. The quality and freshness makes all the difference in the world. That combined with the fact that the man making it knew how to put it together well made all the difference. I haven’t had a decent sub in years. I highly recommend them. I will be going back myself.

They got rid of the cool overhead wood slats! Things don’t seem as lively there these days, but I could have just gone on an off day. I used to love eating there for lunch. Fingers crossed things are better next time I go in. The roast beef was still pretty good. Update: the original owner took it back over, looking forward to going in again.

I haven’t gone to old world deli in years. I heard they were under new ownership so I guess the attention caught my eye. Got 2 different subs they were good on fresh baked rolls. They have quite the amount of options on the menu, and after today I’ll be back to explore some more. See you guys again soon.

Driving by multiple times I’ve thought of how the outside of this place doesn’t look appealing. Today while out with my finance we took a leap and walked in to what was a very clean, friendly environment with excellent food. Maybe I should be less “judge by the cover” and more read the damn book first.

Feels empty when you walk inside but it doesn’t last long. Boar’s Head meat, lots of different combos to choose from and they have triple stuffed deckers (sandwiches built up) one of the best subs I’ve had. I recommend trying it.
