Northern Cafe is a Chinese restaurant that focuses on Northern Chinese cuisine, and it’s a place where you can enjoy Lanzhou-style noodles. For me, it brought back memories of the time I lived in China, especially because Northern Chinese food has a very distinct and nostalgic flavor.
The Lanzhou beef noodle soup itself was flavorful, with a clean and comforting broth. However, I don’t think the noodles were freshly hand-pulled on the spot. When I was living in China, Lanzhou noodles were almost always made by hand, right in front of you, and the texture here felt different from that traditional hand-pulled style.
That said, the overall taste was still quite good, and the meal was enjoyable. Most importantly, everyone in my family was satisfied with their food, which made it a pleasant dining experience overall.

The big plus about this place is the portion is huge. One bowl of noodles is good for at least two people.
Noodles were fresh and chewy in soup. The soup base was good but not the best.
The cold noodles texture was too tough to eat. I love my noodles to be chewy but not too tough. The noodles in the soup had the perfect texture though.
Side dish: seaweed was really good with the vinegary taste. The red oil pork tummy wasn’t spicy and it was really tasty. The tofu skin had no taste and the texture was too hard.
I guess the server was too busy to serve all the tables on a busy weekend, so he was a little too busy to answer questions properly.
I’ll still go back to give the stir fried knife-cut noodles a try and order the side dishes along with it.

Noodles are large in portion and tastes decent. Theur cumin lamb seems really popular among tables and def would try their dumplings next time. Can get crowded with little spacing between tables and can get toasty inside. Really love their cold plates!!

Update: Ordered a beef roll, turns out it’s icy cold inside with a hot wrapper on the outside. Acknowledging the staffs about the issue and we were told it’s normal. We literally had it yesterday, and it wasn’t icy cold on the inside. Very inconsistent quality with extremely health hazard practice.
This place serves northern type of Chinese food, which is mostly bun, dumplings, noodle with some other small side dishes. The spicy tofu we ordered was small in portion. However the beef noodle, dumplings, onion pancake and pot stickers taste decent. The portion is also generous. The place is clean. Plenty of parking as well.

Small, cozy spot but with some amazing Chinese dishes. I ordered the beef shank noodle soup with flat noodles (you get to choose which noodles you want). First of all, the bowl of soup is huge. In it came with 2 large bone in shanks which were tender and delicious! It wasn’t spicy but it was very flavorful. I added chili oil to spice it up. Next time I’ll just order it spicy. I was really impressed with this place. Definitely going to revisit this restaurant again!

We got wonton soup, stinky tofu, sesame noodles, fish dumplings, and another thing i don’t remember. The food isn’t bad but they’re a lot of better options in the area even in the plaza. It’s not super flavorful but it’s good enough. The staff can be aggressive on some days vs others. The resturaunt is cute though.
