11/18/23 Breakfast. I didn’t know where to begin, so I’ll just list the items that were a concern for me as a customer.
We came here primarily bc there were some good reviews online. My wife and I both ordered basic breakfasts (eggs, bacon, toast, etc.). My little sleeve with utensils and a napkin apparently had been used by a prior customer who must have then put everything back in the sleeve before they left. So, of course, the server didn’t check and then gave me the dirty packet. I pulled the dirty silverware out and had to ask for a clean set.
The food turned out as bad as my silverware. The eggs were rubbery hard, the side of grits was room temperature cold, and the biscuits were old and dry. My wife couldn’t eat her eggs, and the manager politely got her a new set that was as bad as the first set. At this point, the meal was ruined, and I just wanted to leave.
But here is the best part! Look at the menu I took pictures of. I always take pictures of the menu so people can see the pricing to better judge for themselves. I think the owner intentionally used old menus so that he could charge what he wanted at will. When we asked for the bill, he instantly told me it was $18.50 (which was more than what the menu indicated).
I admit I was a bit confused by his telling me the cost without ringing anything up, so I gave him my credit card and just wanted to get out of there. Then he comes back and says that he forgot to include the old, stale biscuits and that the new price was $25.00 even.
When I told him the cost was way more than what the menu indicated, he brings me a menu that has a piece of paper taped to the bottom that says something like “the prices may have changed” as if this makes it all legit. Going back, I did see it on my menu.
Well, as you can imagine, my confusion turned to anger, and I paid the bill but didn’t leave a tip. I can only assume the hyped up and wonderful reviews online are fraudulent bc the meal we had was nothing like what those reviews talked about.
I’m generously giving it a fair rating.
Excellent: Uniquely satisfying. A special place.
Very Good: Better than expected.
Average: An everyday experience. Just OK.
Fair: Below par. Dirty smells. & / or flies.

Holy cow, Everybody here was so extremely nice! They made us feel so welcome. With help from the waitress and the cook we decided on 2 dishes that were absolutely delicious..They asked us to come back for breakfast sometime and we will really soon. If you haven’t been here yet please go you won’t be disappointed. As an added bonus, in the restroom they had antibacterial wipes. I was extremely surprised and impressed. I am Disabled and cannot hover like most women. Excellent!

My husband and I use to frequent Aries. The staff is friendly, other customers are friendly. It’s a friendly place to socialize. When we first started going there the prices were fair for a home town establishment. However prices have increased and food diminished. Today we ordered 2 3 egg ham and cheese omelets with cheese grits. I’m including picture. Total bill 21.90. Sorry guys I love the customers but want be eating there anymore.

The pancakes here are some of the best I’ve ever had at a diner. The bacon was crispy and the eggs came out just right and weren’t overly oily. Highly recommend this place with the one caveat below.
Stay away from anything with biscuits and gravy. Canned and stale tasting.

Visited for the first time last evening. The food was good and well prepared. It was nice seeing locals come in and talk with the owner as friends.
It seems to be a family ran business and those are what I like to support. Give them a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
If you want good food in a simple atmosphere, this is your place.

Cheeseburgers were good! The food was hot, the fries were hot and crispy, and the tea tasted like tea, not Southern sugar water. No fries for you, no problem. Onion rings and fried okra can be had, too!
The staff was friendly and kept our drinks full.
Going back again next week for Tuesday burger night, even though it’s late evening.

Love this place, & anyone else that’s ate here will say the same too. We go every time we go see my fiance’s brother. Never had a dish i didn’t like, even had chicken livers and a fish dish I never liked anywhere else, but was actually really good at Aries lol. Guess when u know how to cook and use good ingredients it makes a big difference. Me and the family will keep coming here as long as they stay opened.

I enjoy the food very much. I always get a double bacon cheeseburger with fries. They load the burger down with a big meat patty, but a little slack on the bacon last time. Overall it is always great and so is breakfast.

Food is okay but the portion sizes are pretty small for the money. Over $24 for a very small salad and two chicken strip plates with four tiny strips each and a handful of fries that were cold and hard. Don’t recommend.
