In my opinion, this is the only place to get pie in southern Illinois. Every flavor is delicious. I’ve never had anything from here that I didn’t like. They also have really good quiche. Staff is friendly and the shop itself has a comfortable atmosphere. They also use local ingredients whenever possible. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

My new husband and I have always love Rule of Pie so when I started planning the wedding, I knew we’d have pie instead of cake. Rule of Pie was much more affordable than most local cake shops and the dessert was so good! We chose 5 different flavors and everyone was trying to get bites of each. I had one guest ask for the address of the shop so they could pick up some pie to take home the next day! It was a hit and the shop was so flexible with tastings, payment and delivery.

Staff is friendly, pie is excellent. Small interior, so if there is more than just a couple/few people – suggest buying a whole pie to go. The cookie dough sandwiches and brownies are yummy too. Most are very rich, so my daughter and I typically split something. Coffee is brewed on the strong side, but (plain) creamer and sweeteners are available. Rule of Pie makes the absolutely best pies anywhere!! The crust is always crisp even on the bottom. I bought their pies for my PhD defense & my committee loved it. They said I set the bar high for all defenses to come!

This was my first visit to this bakery. Old school with a lot of nostalgia from the good old days, when downtown was the place to go. The pie was awesome and the owners were very nice. I enjoy seeing a small business thrive due to hard work. Check this place out!

I have compared all pie though out life with my Aunt Norma’s pie, her’s were awesome. These guys are the closest I have found to as good. Plus they do some she never did. Sorry aunt Norma they may be as good.
