Had the most wonderful dinner with our dearest of friends last night! From our warm and welcoming greeting until the moment that we walked out if the door, our experience was sweet and kind, delicious and incredibly heart warming! Food was next level, drinks delicious, fire toasty and both staff and crowd top notch! Not sure just what more Guilford could be looking for when seeking amazing food in a wonderful and cozy setting! South Lane is a staple in Guilford’s culinary scene and a true hometown favorite!

This is a small restaurant with excellent food and a nice atmosphere. It’s best to have a reservation. The menu has lots of locally sourced food that is prepared to perfection. I particularly like to sit in the room with the modern gas fireplace that adds a nice ambiance to the room and warmth in the colder months.

This is the only restaurant that has ever asked me to leave right after paying. There were 3 open tables around us, it wasn’t near closing, and this was after we had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time before even being seated. The food was good, but this was rude and unwelcoming.

Went last night and had fries and a steak chimichurri special. The fries themselves were decent, had a good seasoning, but the 2 dip options made them REALLY good. The steak came with broccolini and roasted potatoes, and a side salad with fun dressing options. Steak dinner was a generous portion. I split it with my mom and we were both full. The specialty cocktails are also good, not overly sweet or trying too hard. Ambiance is very cozy and intimate. We sat at the bar. Will definitely be back.
