Delicious authentic Cuban cuisine. The fried plantain chips were crisp and cooked perfectly. The chicken was seasoned just right. The Traditional Cuban sandwich was incredible. The staff and servers were friendly. The atmosphere is set to be on small island in the Caribbean. Definitely will be returning!

I went here the other day for dinner (dined in) and was really impressed by how pleasant everything was. The food was reasonably priced and very good. We absolutely loved our experience at La Cocina Cubana. My fiance ordered the vaca frita, and I ordered the carne con papas, and it was all so delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and charming, and the service was impeccable – the most attentive and friendly staff. We haven’t had such great Cuban food since moving here from Miami 5 years ago. Can’t wait to become a regular. 5 stars well deserved!!!!

La Cocina Cubana made my day. This restaurant was incredibly accommodating and communicative when I tried placing a large order for my company. I do not live in Lansing so I was worried about getting quality food delivered in time and especially when DoorDash did not send my original scheduled order through. The owner is so nice and helped me with my order with patience and my company got the food with care. They said it was so yummy. Thank you so much, La Cocina Cubana!! We love La Cocina and have been many times. We visited recently and are concerned more effort is going into the new EL location. They were out of coke and Diet Coke so we paid more to have Mexican Coke. The microwave was beeping non stop as they prepared food for our table as well as a large party nearby, with one plate being served at a time. It was absolutely freezing inside to the point we didn’t take our winter coats off. They had small space heaters running but that didn’t do much. We love their food and the authentic flavor but it’s disappointing to pay so much and support local for microwaved leftovers. Keeping our fingers crossed this is just a sign of temporary growing pains.

Never having had Cuban food before today, this was an amazing experience. We had the Cuban sandwich and carne con papas (sp) (beef and potatoes) this quaint little shop did it right. I look forward to being able to get the chance at trying more of the menu on a future trip to Downtown Lansing.

I ordered a traditional Cuban Sandwich with fries for take out. It set me back around $15.00, but it was totally worth it. The sandwich is amazing. The fries taste super fresh. They got my order finished really quickly. I highly recommend this place.

This looked like an authentic Cuban restaurant and we were excited to give it a try.
To start they bring to the table 5 mini slices of toast. The Cuban restaurant we ate at in Miami served a bread stick basket and I’m sure people would prefer that instead.
Both my wife and I got the Cubano sandwich. Her pork in her sandwich was mostly fat and she had to remove it to eat it. I thought the sandwich tasted plain and was very greasy from cooking on a flattop. It didn’t have much flavor so I used the dip sauce they provided to give it some taste. (tastes just like hot sauce and ranch dressing)
It seemed that we were ignored as the other 5 tables had Spanish speaking customers and the waitress seemed to want to talk to them verses occasionally checking on us. After we ordered the waitress didn’t come back until she delivered the food. After both our plates were pushed to the edge of the table she eventually came back and gave me the credit card device and left.
I used the device, paid and tipped and she never came back because she was involved in a friendly conversation with another table. We decided to leave after waiting for our receipt printout. As I walked by the waitress I raised the credit card device in front of her face then sat it down on the register as we walked out.
Very disappointed as I was hoping to find a nice spot downtown with some authentic food. The atmosphere was good and the place seemed clean but need better food and service to become a repeat customer.
