Reviews
The atmosphere is spot on: dark, cool, and accented with background music that gives you that authentic Italian dining feel. Service was attentive and friendly, with those little touches (like fresh Parmesan at the table) that make the experience feel special.
Bottom line: Nona’s deserves to be packed, especially on a hot Saturday afternoon. With food this good, a welcoming vibe, and great service, it’s a spot Montgomery locals should rally behind.
My absolute favorite dish and the reason I keep coming back is their spaghetti carbonara. It’s rich and flavorful. You can taste the authenticity in every bite, from the perfectly cooked pasta to the creamy, savory sauce. It’s comfort food at its finest and my favorite dish when I want to be bad about my diet.
The service was wonderful, attentive, kind, and accommodating without ever feeling intrusive. We felt genuinely welcomed, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The only small disappointment during this visit was the Caesar salad. I’ve ordered it several times before and have always enjoyed it, but this time something seemed off. The lettuce and dressing tasted noticeably sour and a bit overly fishy. It may have just been an off day, but it stood out compared to the usual high standard we’ve come to expect.
Other than that minor hiccup, we truly enjoyed ourselves. It’s a place that combines heart, hospitality, and authentic Italian flavors and I’ll happily be back for another plate of that incredible carbonara.

I finally had the chance to dine at Nona’s last weekend, and it was an experience that absolutely deserves a glowing review. Located at 950 Pine Market Ave Suite 400 in Montgomery, the restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in.
Our meal started with two incredible appetizers. The Seafood Appetizer (I believe our waiter called it the Frutti di Mare) was spectacularly fresh, featuring a beautiful mix of calamari, shrimp, and scallops that were cooked to perfection. We also shared the Caprese Salad, and it was a classic done right—ripe, juicy tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil with a drizzle of exquisite balsamic that had us fighting over the last bite.
For our mains, my partner ordered Nona’s Favorite Chicken. The aroma alone was incredible! It was succulent, flavorful, and topped with a rich and savory combination of prosciutto and fontina cheese. A truly standout dish. I, however, have to give the highest praise to the Spaghetti and Meatballs. This was, without a doubt, some of the best I’ve ever had. The pasta was cooked al dente, the marinara sauce was robust and had a wonderful depth of flavor (you can tell it simmers for hours), and the meatballs were incredibly tender and seasoned beautifully. It’s the kind of hearty, comforting dish that you crave.
The entire experience was elevated by our server, Eddie. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had fantastic recommendations. His timing was impeccable—he checked on us just the right amount—and his genuine, friendly demeanor made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Eddie, for your outstanding service; you truly helped make our night special.
From the food to the service to the ambiance, Nona’s is a top-tier dining destination. We cannot wait to return
Great service too.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, there was a piano player that made the evening even better. “Saturdays”
(In the pictures: chicken Marsala and a cake that I didn’t get the name) my husband ordered veal and it was incredible but, by the time I was going to take the picture half the plate was eaten…
We definitely will be coming back!
You can enjoy quite a few different entrées, including homemade pasta and homemade bread with the salad and entrée most of the selections around $16.50
I love the story of Juan the owner. He is a self-made entrepreneur. He started office and dishwasher and the rest of history. I highly recommend it both of his locations, but My Favorite is the one near Woodforest.
As for Angela, she’s awesome!
