We recently had the pleasure of dining for my birthday celebration at Café Le Jardin and were very happy by both the cuisine and the service. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided an exceptional level of hospitality—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, which elevated the entire experience.

The meal itself was great. We started with the sweetbreads, which were prepared to perfection—delicately crisp on the outside and had bold flavor. The duck filet followed, cooked impeccably. To finish, the desserts were equally delightful—elegant, indulgent, and delicious.

This restaurant is a gem for anyone who appreciates French cuisine and top-tier service. We left already looking forward to our next visit.

My family and I went for brunch this weekend and had the pleasure of having Lisa as our server. She was patient, sweet, and kind. A+ customer service! She went above and beyond to accommodate my daughter’s dietary restrictions. Thank you, Lisa!! She was attentive and service was quick! And the food — DELICIOUS!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Crème Brûlée French Toast, the Vietnamese coffee , and the Beef Bourguignon. The restaurant is changing a bit beginning tomorrow, I understand, but I hope and pray they keep those three items at least!!! The Crème Brûlée French Toast was the perfect amount of sweet and was a both crispy and pillow-y taste of heaven. Perfection. The Vietnamese coffee was sweet and packed a caffeinated punch. Perfect to begin your day! The Beef Bourguignon was so good, my husband scarfed it down without letting me taste it! Potatoes were crispy, not at all soggy. The french onion soup was light and savory, and they didn’t over-salt it. Yum! The Ratatouille was great! The Parisian Gnocchi Bolognese was a good portion and also very tasty. We were impressed with the service and equally impressed with the food. Also, super cute ambiance with lovely decor. I’m sad that we didn’t get here sooner, but looking forward to visiting again under the new name- Pop’s Trattoria!

I really wanted to like this place, as I love their sister restaurant, but sadly their brunch was a let down. Service was very slow. This would probably be a great place to catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, but not so great for a quick bite. 2 out of 3 dishes were misses for me. The waffles were sized for ants, and were not a filling meal on their own. I had the tomato tart, and the pastry part had an awful texture. It was hard on the bottom, but chewy and almost raw in the middle. It almost tasted like they did not cook the pastry first, but cooked everything together. The crème brûlée French toast was amazing, and the star of the show. If we all got this, I would give this spot a 5 out of 5. Sadly, due to small portion sizes, we went to another spot afterwards as everyone was still hungry.

I will definitely come back as on Sundays, they had an all you can eat cheese tasting for a decent price. There is no way to mess up cheese, and cheese is my favorite food, so I’m excited to give that experience a try!

We came to Cafe Le Jardin to celebrate a birthday. A simply decorated restaurant, with chic French cafe flair. We chose dining here based off their menu online (which needs update as they had items that were apparently from summer menu). We are well into fall.
Our table ordered the 3 course meal including amuse bouche, appetizer, entree and dessert which was reasonably priced. Honestly would have paid a bit more for slightly larger serving sizes for the three course menu. I didn’t leave hungry, but not quite full either.

I was disappointed by the cheese plate that I had ordered for my appetizer, so much I forgot to take a picture because it was unappealing. There were two slices of Gruyère, some blueberries and raspberries, a small container of honey and a portion of a baguette. Although it’s a small plate, I felt like some more creativity could have been put into it.

The pictured stuffing and escargot bone marrow appetizer was cold, which we didn’t quite expect and think would fit the fall menu better if hot.

We had other appetizers like moules frite and coquettes (scallop) which were tasty, but again quite small servings.

The bœuf bourguignon was tasty, but definitely not the traditional rich sauce I was expecting. The pappardelle pasta was cooked perfectly but the three strands of it under my beef left me wanting more.

We had Crème brûle and chocolate mousse for dessert, the crème brûle was more loose than I’m used to. The chocolate mousse was rich and tasty.

I do wonder if the meals would have been larger or different if we had not ordered the three course menu.

The service was fine, but definitely feel as there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant for the first at least hour to two hours we were there that it did suffer some. No water refills until asked. Potential to upsell items towards dessert like coffee but never asked if we’d be interested so I feel that the restaurant it’s certainly missing out on sales.

I’m not sure, especially as it was a bit of a drive that we’d return, but worth a try for some.

Wonderful experience! My husband and I went for Sunday brunch with our dog. He got the very savory beef bourguignon omlette and I got the sweet creme brulee French toast. The omlette was very flavorful and the beef and vegetables were cooked perfectly! The French toast was nice and moist and it had a beautifully crunchy top as a creme brulee should. The French toast was also sweet but not overly so. We also got small pastries, which were delicious and crispy.
The chef also happened to come out the front door near where we were seated, saw our dog, and asked if she was allowed to eat anything. He then came back a few minutes later with a bowl full of poached eggs, carrots, potatoes, and snap peas all cut to kibble size.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We opted for a shorter stay but there were groups that stayed longer and seemed to prefer to not be disturbed, similar to what you would see in Europe. The patio was beautiful and played soft French music, really creating a nice atmosphere.

For our brunch my wife ordered the Croque Madame, and I chose the Bouillabaisse 3-egg omelet. Desserts were the Chocolate Croissant and the stuffed cookie. Everything was splendid and lived up to the hype we’d been hearing about the restaurant. Service was prompt and excellent, and the interior, although noisy, was tastefully designed. All-in-all, a first-rate meal.

Once the great Crux Cafe and then a BBQ place (never tried), the Café Le Jardin brings some French vibes to this little corner of Audubon.

My husband and I are working on various projects and decided rather last minute to go on an impromptu date to take a break. Most restaurants are closed on Mondays, but I knew this one was open because it usually has a Monday prefix menu announced midday.

Having been to the Crux Cafe many times, walking into this one was very familiar as far as set up. We were greeted and seated with a smile. It was not busy yet, so they let us choose our corner. It certainly wasn’t quiet, but the atmosphere was cheerful as other guests included families, friends, and other couples. The seating outdoors would have been great if it wasn’t so darn hot.

The water was served in a chilled water bottle with a glass. Borrowing this idea!
We opted not to get the prefix menu, but to try a few things off the appetizer list. And pardon me for not using the French labels from the menu. We had the mussels (came with shoelace French fries), scallops, frog legs (first time trying them), and my absolute must have when offered – escargot. Everything was very well prepared and delicious. The only thing missing was more bread to sop up all the amazing sauces!

If you are looking for a different experience for your next date or outing with a friend, this is a great spot. I imagine brunch on Sundays is amazing – especially because you can walk down Merchant Street and shop afterwards. #trustkj

Had a nice dinner at this quaint BYOB restaurant. The cheese board was a good start. I had the beef bourginon which was cooked perfectly, just had to add a little salt. The deserts were delicious especially the beignets.

Came here tonight for dinner with my friend to celebrate my birthday. We started off with the scallops and escargot. The scallops came in a cream sauce which was full of flavor. The escargot was just ok it was a bit on the bland side. I got the duck for entree which came with a bed of vegetables. It was a bit too much vegetable. I think I would enjoy it more if it was paired with a side of potato puree. The sauce was a bit on the sweeter side then I would like and I think it would be better if they make the duck skin a little crispier. The seafood pasta was tasty the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavors. The dessert was good.

Overall I would recommend trying out this place. I would definitely be back to try out other dishes. I think it was on the pricier side for the entree portion you get.

Cafe le Jardin: Where Food Dreams Come True (And My Taste Buds Had a Rave Party)

So, there we were, stuck in the endless vortex of birthday dinner decisions. After much contemplation based on posts online about local restaurants , and a few rounds of rock-paper-scissors, we stumbled upon the hidden gem that is Cafe le Jardin in Audubon. A culinary haven with a sous chef straight out of the legendary Porch and Proper (RIP), this place had been on our radar for ages. Note to self: procrastination doesn’t pay off when it comes to fantastic food!

We dove headfirst into the Monday magic: a 3-course feast for the delightful price of $35.00. Hold onto your taste buds, folks, because this was no ordinary meal. Our culinary journey began with a shared plate of Moules-Frites—a.k.a. mussels in garlic butter sauce with a sidekick of golden French fries. If only we could have bathed in that garlic butter, but let’s not get carried away (or judged by the neighboring tables).

Our 3-course adventure continued with a synchronized order of French onion soup, Hachis-Parmentier (fancy lingo for Beef Shepherd’s Pie), and a finale fit for royalty—the Vanilla Cremeaux, aka a vanilla/orange creme brulee. Picture a party in your mouth, and then imagine that party being headlined by the most fabulous flavor orchestra. Spoiler alert: It was that good.

I must confess; I had a momentary desire to smuggle two loaves of their divine bread home. Alas, my conscience and the watchful eyes of the waitstaff prevailed. The place operates on a BYOB policy, so don’t forget to bring your own wine—because let’s face it, a party in your mouth deserves the perfect sip to accompany it.

Cafe le Jardin is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Take advantage of their special deals, like the unbeatable 3-for-$35 on Mondays or the Saturday extravaganza of all-you-can-eat cheese for $25. Yes, you read that right—cheese enthusiasts, rejoice! And if you’re not a fan of cheese, well, we might need to reassess our chance to ever have a friendship.

Conclusion: In the grand scheme of culinary delights, Cafe le Jardin has secured a spot in my regular rotation. Owned and operated by the geniuses behind June BYOB in Collingswood (a place I’ll need to mortgage my soul to visit), this joint is a testament to the fact that good things come to those who wait. My taste buds are eternally grateful, and my wallet is readying itself for the next foodie adventure. Cheers to Cafe le Jardin—where every bite is a step closer to gastronomic nirvana!
