Ma and Pa tavern/restaurant with indoor and outside patio dining and huge bar area with pool table and video game and jukebox. Plenty of seating at bar and surrounding tables. Down to earth owners and staff that makes everyone feel welcome! Very cozy atmosphere!

Casual and comfortable locals bar with decent eats and decent prices.
Has a nice dining room, and a more casual bar area with pool table, video game, darts… cozy and friendly. Biker and family friendly.

I wanted to check this place out for years and finally did. It’s a dingy, dark and smelly bar that takes “dive” to a whole new level. The nice old woman working the bar was very pleasant, however.

Our recent visit to Hillbilly Hall encapsulated all that is challenging AND all that is wonderful about small-scale, family-run restaurants.
In hindsight we should have called ahead. We did not, and arrived on a late Saturday afternoon to this charming, rustic tavern to find it very quiet. Speaking to the incredibly sweet proprietor (Cathy (?)), she revealed that they were behind on their inventory ordering, so there wasn’t really any food available at the time.
After breaking the news to the folks whom I had arranged to meet there for dinner (“Sorry folks, there’s no food here”) and having a beer, the owner kindly told us about some dining options in the area.
Sitting outside at their cute deck enjoying our beers, she came out and took the time to tell us of even more dining options in the area. She didn’t need to do THAT, but in the spirit of American inn-keepers (who exude a sense of hospitality to travelers) she wanted to make sure that we left her establishment with some solid guidance on where to find a meal). Her advice did not disappoint, and we ended up at a nearby place with our bellies full, and with a great experience to share about the kind lady who runs the Hillbilly Hall.
We WILL be back– but we’re definitely going to call ahead first, to make sure that they have food (and white wine).

This place is a gem. Threw a dart at a map looking for a spot to meet a friend and had no clue what we were in for based on the reviews, but it exceeded expectations. When we arrived, the kitchen had just closed, but Kathy fired everything back up for us to have some burgers and fries. The place is full of personalities and we quickly felt right at home amongst the regulars.
If you’re looking for soulless hospitality smiles, this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for a neighborhood joint where you can talk to strangers like they’re old friends and knock back a few drinks: I hope to see you at the bar!

This is the place of the nostalgic bar that we used to know and love before covid and chain restaurants. I visited for the first time today and fell in love with the atmosphere immediately. Kathy was kind, friendly, and her hospitality was second to none. The food was great and I could not have enjoyed my experience any more than I had. It may not be the spot for everybody, but it is the spot for everyone. Please visit your local bar and grill at the Hillbilly Hall and give a shout out to Kathy for running a great place to enjoy food, drink, and talk about the best times we had while making the best times ever.

I used to live next door in Ringoes. Would stop by regularly for beers after a bicycle ride or hike in the Sourland Mountains. Good beers, never ate the food. Cute bartender, as I recall. One night one of the locals’ wife was flirting with me, and her drunk came husband came upon the scene and sucker punched me from behind, knocking me off the bar stool. Obviously, I retaliated and all hell broke loose! Hahaha! An old school bar fight! Cops drove me home. The Digital crowd should keep driving by. And this was 20 years ago, so I hope they’ve preserved the essence of the place!

Found this Tavern by sheer chance, driving the back roads, and fell in love with it. Outdoor seating, Solid traditionally bar. None of that fruity corporate nonsense. Food was surprisingly good. Drinks are reasonably priced. Wish i knew about this place before all my motorcycle buds got married. Would be a blast with the whole crew. Might be slow, but owner was incredibly hospitable, and would highly recommend stopping in. It’s not a fake instagram vibe. Its a legit beer and a burger kind of spot. If you dig that kind of thing. Pool table-beers-off the beaten path. always a good time.

I came in with my family. We were visiting from England. The Band were incredible! Each and every member of the band was incredibly talented. The Bar staff were amazing at their jobs. It was super loud and they heard everything, served everything quickly and correctly. One girl behind the bar, whose name i did get for the purpose of this review but escapes me now cos i was hammered was brilliant. Did everything to make us feel welcome. In fact everyone did! Jay who loves the Who was a super nice guy and Jim and Mike spent a few hours spanking my brother and dad at pool. One of the best nights of my trip! Loved it! Highly recommend

I love this place for its middle of no-where wattering hole atmosphere and crazy log cabin ambience. great find on a dark wooded path
2025 UPDATE
shell of its former glory. One older woman bartender and basically fry chef with a nasty cough that does everything. Place is run down dirty and takes “dive” bar to an extreme level. A poster child established for a bar rescue Jon taffer takeover resuscitation if I’ve ever seen one. They openly acknowledge there’s just no business anymore and it’s just sad and depressing now. Hoping it’s not the end but I don’t see a path forward without serious changes and money being dropped

4 stars only because the bathroom has to be cleaned A LOT. But the owner Kathy had a healthy attitude for us even though me and my friends overtook the place on a random Tuesday night. She turned on the TVs and jukebox just for us. We didn’t order food but I could see she knew what she was doing with orders the produced for others. I don’t know how she keeps that place running but we will be back. Don’t expect miracles but it is a homey dive bar.
