Honestly, the best sushi I have ever had. I don’t say that lightly, either. The tray was filled with fresh, high quality fish. The dipping sauces were absolutely delicious.

My husband and I came here for the first time on Valentine’s day for dinner. There was a wait (expected), but we were still able to be seated. The inside is intimate and cozy. We started with the complimentary hot green tea. We ordered 2 different sets and both loved what we got. I got the unagi, which had so many pieces. It tasted so good and it was super filling. I loved everything that came with the meal, and for $32, I felt like it was a great price! Our service was great and checked in with us often and our food came out pretty quickly, despite it being a busy night. My husband and I were impressed with the amount of food we got and the quality. Also, love that it’s a no tipping restaurant. The entire staff were also so friendly! I can’t wait to come back here again

This was our third time back and every time we’ve visited, the owner and staff make sure we’re well taken care of.
Their sushi is fresh and the sushi rice adds so much flavor that soy sauce is not needed and you can eat the nigiri as is. The o toro is truly melt in your mouth like it should be.
My go to is the unagi set and it never disappoints! A little tip is to ask for it with sushi rice for a bit of extra flavor over the regular white rice.
Definitely one of the top sushi spots around, hands down.

There was an attempt to upsell a few times. I’m not judging, but she was persistent. Most of the tables after me I did hear they ordered the fresh Uni. For the record it was $16 for one. lol
They also gave everybody a free love shot dessert to celebrate Valentine’s Day. That was a nice gesture.
The bathroom was also spacious and clean.
Finally, tips are included. That was nice.

Just look at my photos. The fish here is so fresh. It felt like it they caught it yesterday. This is a no tipping sushi spot, but the service is still incredible. Makes me wonder how other restaurants cannot do the same thing. If you have the opportunity to go here, please do!

Found this place through Instagram. 10 out of 10 recommend. The service was excellent. Definitely need to come here as soon as they open, as they have a waitlist and the food is well worth the wait. The staff is also excellent, you feel like you are in an Asian aunts home. This is a no tipping restaurant and they enforce that, I wish I could tip because the service and food was just so excellent. The fish is actually so fresh, I feel like I can’t get this kind of freshness anywhere else in the Raleigh area!

I found this place on TikTok and came to try the Shijiri Signature set. It’s a great combination of sashimi and nigiri. Everything was OMG amazing super fresh, and you can really feel that this is authentic, traditional Japanese sushi. If you want a real premium omakase experience, I recommend sitting at the chef’s bar. Chef John has 20–30 years of experience from Japan and really knows how to pick great fish. The staff are very knowledgeable and well-prepared. They know the fish well, can explain and recommend each piece clearly, and they’re also super friendly with a great sense of humor. Great food, great service definitely worth it.
