We didn’t have a booking but were able to get a table without any trouble. The staff were very welcoming. We ordered the salt and pepper tofu and goong chup to start, both were delicious. For my main, I chose the braised beef with bean curd stick and rice from the lunch menu, the sauce was fragrant and full of flavor. My friend had the tofu Thai green curry, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The portions were generous and reasonable prices.

We had dinner and all of the dishes we ordered were so good. One of the best Thai restaurants in Edinburgh you could ever wish! The restaurant vibe is very chill and quite nice. They also have Hong Kong lunch menu. We will definitely come back again and expecting to try other dishes as well

I’ve been to quite a few Thai restaurants around, but Thailander is definitely the one I’d recommend. The service is just excellent!From the waiter to the owner, everyone is super friendly and attentive without being over the top. Portions are generous and satisfying. Thai curry is tasty, but Thai tea is a must-try (honestly one of the best I’ve had). The restaurant also gives you free prawn crackers to start, which is a pretty nice touch. In general: great vibe, great food, and really worth going back to.

Simply sensational. The best homemade authentic Thai food around, with a focus on fresh quality ingredients. We got two Chef Specials and have no regrets. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, the combination of textures and flavours was unlike any Thai food I’ve eaten before. Presentation was beautiful!
The pineapple seafood fried rice was balanced, with the sweetness of the pineapple and currants, and the fishy saltiness of the sauce. Most importantly, it didn’t feel greasy at all. The prawns were perfectly tender and I loved the crispy bits of rice scattered throughout, a sign of a chef with amazing attention to detail.
The only slight issue on the night was that we placed an order at the same time as a big group and so waited a long time. But it was completely worth it, and the staff were so friendly we chatted for a long time after our meal.

We wandered in this evening (Sunday) without a reservation…..and we were so delighted that we did! We were given a lovely welcome (and as a bonus they allowed my little dog to join is! 6 for that!)
The food was absolutely delicious – I had my favourite Green Thai Curry and it was truly one of the best I have ever had The waiter was excellent – friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was great- nice decor and amazing music – chilled retro cocktail bar music. We w I ll 100% definitely be back!
