Our server Cameron was very friendly and made us feel welcome as it was our first time here! The sushi was amazing, very fresh and a great value for the price. The prices were average for a sushi spot, around $15 for a special roll and $6 for basic. But the best was that the rolls were very large and full, they did not skimp on the fish! And the garnishes were beautiful as well. We will be back!

My husband and I have been to this restaurant a few times since it opened. But last night, we had a great experience with Aaron The manager at our time at the bar. Being Valentine’s Day, we figured it was going to be a mediocre experience. It was the complete opposite. We had some amazing sushi along with a few of his recommendations that were out of this world. Thank you so much for this great experience and for sure we will be going back!

Kansai is such a hidden gem. Fantastic food with so many options for Asian cuisine. Their ramen is excellent and oh — the sushi! Nom nom nom. Definitely check this place out. We go here at least once a month.

Recently moved to the area, saw this place in the center of town and I’m glad we made our way over there. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service is even better. The manager, Ben, is personable and an outstanding sushi chef. The staff works together like a close knit family which makes this place a welcoming and friendly place to eat.
Now the sushi… nothing short of beautifully executed, fresh fish and fun flavors. I cannot recommend this place more to newcomers!

Amy at Kansai in Belchertown was fantastic. We’re new to town and she made our experience so welcoming and enjoyable. She was on top of everything the entire time — attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask.
Great service really makes a difference, and Amy went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a waitress in training who was nice and still learning. The food was the best Asian food I have ever had and I have no idea why the reviews aren’t better. The egg rolls were cut in half which made it amazing because of the texture. The bulgogi tacos were delicious and the sauces topped on everything enhanced the taste. The sushi was even better than it looked and the salads were a beautiful array of vegetables. The chicken could have been a little less done but that is only critique. I would come back here weekly and tell friends and family about it.

I was really excited to try Kansai. The food looks amazing, and I’ve heard great things. I tried ordering through Uber Eats several times, and each order kept getting delayed and then canceled. I called the restaurant to see if they could check on it. The first time, I was told it was “weird” that it didn’t go through. I tried again, called again, and the person who answered went to ask a manager. I could hear the manager in the background saying I was probably a scammer, then I was abruptly told there was nothing they could do.
I totally understand that technology doesn’t always work, and restaurants are busy. But it was disappointing to be talked about like that and left without any help or explanation.
Just a heads up if you’re thinking of using Uber Eats. It might be better to call ahead or order another way.
P.S. Uber Eats said there was nothing they could do either. I have never had problems elsewhere ordering with Uber Eats.

Friendly service. The selection of sashimi is not large but the fish was excellent. We had Hamachi, Blue Fin Tuna, snapper and an avocado roll. Next time we will try the Ramen.
Haven’t tried the Ramen yet but last night dinner: Fantastic Roll; Hamachi, Toro, Brazilian and Salmon sashimi was excellent. Still a 5 in my book.

I had to erase my previous 5 ⭐️ review from a while ago because the quality of the food has sadly gone downhill. The last couple times I’ve ordered sushi, the fish (especially the tuna) has been dry and smells like ammonia, which happens when fish is degrading. We swapped out spicy tuna for tempura shrimp in one roll and were charged a $2.50 service charge, making that one roll $19 and it was not even good. I’ve been here dozens of times and will sadly not return. I reached out Ryu with my concerns and he asked who the chef was. The issue is not with the chef, it’s with the quality of the ingredients and the weird service charges.

We LOVED the sushi and watching them make it at the sushi bar. My favorite was the Godzilla roll! I can’t wait to go back and order it again. The Killer Shrimp roll was also amazing. The shrimp tasted really fresh and delicious. We also had a Philadelphia Roll and an Eel and Avocado Roll. Both were great. I’m so glad we found this place. We watched the staff interact with each other and they seemed so polite and helpful to their team. Dinner at Kansai was the perfect way to celebrate Friday and kick off the weekend!
