I don’t write reviews often, but after our experience at Moby’s I felt compelled to warn others.
Eight of us came out to the Hamptons for a special occasion and chose Moby’s based on its reputation. What followed was one of the worst dining experiences of my life, and I say that without any exaggeration.
Let’s start with the food, and not in a good way. Orders arrived over an hour late with zero acknowledgment, no apology, and no explanation from our server. When the food finally did come out, multiple orders were wrong. And when we actually got to eat? Disappointment across the board. The pastas were shockingly bland for a restaurant at this price point, and one was outright sour, a clear sign something had gone wrong well before it hit the table. At a restaurant charging these prices, that’s simply inexcusable.
But the food wasn’t even the worst part. A manager (a woman with a buzz cut) came to our table not to apologize or make things right, but to berate our guests. I’m still processing that one. We were paying customers on a celebratory night out, and we were made to feel like we had done something wrong just by being there.
The bill came out to over $1,500 for eight people. For that kind of money, you expect at minimum to be treated with basic respect and served food that’s actually edible. Instead, we felt like intruders.
Moby’s clearly caters to a crowd they deem worthy of their attention. If you’re not in that circle, don’t expect to be treated well. There are too many genuinely great restaurants in the Hamptons to waste an evening and your hard-earned money here.

I recently dined at Moby’s for the first time and was really disappointed. First off, the service was very slow, taking our waitress over 15 minutes to even come over to our table, and was slow for the remainder of the night. And I don’t recommend eating in the outdoor areas. One is an ugly poorly lit covered patio and the other true outdoor area has a hideous wedding and catering tent up for most of summer.
On the food, the only dishes I actually liked was the rigatoni and kale Caesar (which I’d recommend). Every other dish was either undercooked (broccolini for $25), lacked flavor (chicken and steak $40 each) or just bad (pizza for $30 – it tasted like a microwave pizza and the dough was actually bad).
In short, if you had a group of 6-8 friends and wanted a high energy vibe with decent food, I’d recommend.

Ugh- so disappointing! We had a reservation on a semi-busy Monday. They were out HALF the menu … ok. Five different servers approached our table. One took our drink order and dissapeared…
Finally one waitress came over and got our order. No one cleaned or table for AN HOUR. Food wasn’t served till 40 minutes after we were seated. Entree’s were served BEFORE appetizers. Service was so slow and truly a mess.

This place is absolutely amazing. Our group was being slightly difficult and couldn’t decide whether we wanted to sit inside or outside and changed our mind multiple times but the staff was extremely accommodating. They still sat us even though we were one person over our requested reservation amount and cared to us attentively. $300.
The ambience is amazing, everything we ate was absolutely amazing. You cannot have a bad time here, but the staff really made the experience. They comped us a dessert (in photo) Thanks again to the floor manager Em.

Great small plates to share! Kale Cesar was incredible. Share a pizza. Bread was ok. Shrimp pasta was the winning dish. Make sure to sit outside or at least check it out!

I was severely disappointed by experience here. Although there was one server working who was exceptional and seemed to be taking on her coworkers tasks, our server was horrible. I felt so disrespected, he had us wait over an hour to get our check. No food on the table, nothing. The last time he spoke with us was to ask if we wanted dessert and then completely ignored us. We asked the one good server if she could get his attention, and after she spoke to him, it still took another 15 minutes. I mean, I dont understand how you can treat patrons so badly, when they are spending money at your establishment that is costing $30 for a small pizza. The pizza did taste good though, we had the cacio y Pepe. The spaghetti was okay. Tasted of butter and herb but lacked depth.

Had a confirmed reservation to eat outside at 7pm on Saturday night (August 9th). Arrived on time and the hostess held us for about 5 minutes then gave us a buzzer and said we could wait at the bar. I normally would have just left but didn’t have other options and didn’t want to be the one ruin our night with relatives. Waited 30 minutes and definitely saw another group getting seated outside who arrived after us. They ended sitting us inside. In a nice way I let the waiter know how pissed I was and he was totally professional, provided great service and really took care of us. Either the hostess took care of her friends or they overbooked. Overall the food was just average.

Such a great place! Both the food and service were exceptional. Moby’s has great indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance of this place makes for an enjoyable night out. Definitely suggest stopping in to try their pizza or any of their other tasty dishes.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED…
I was really excited to try this new pizza place, but I was very disappointed with the experience. We ordered a pizza and it took over an hour to arrive. When it finally came, it was cold and the crust was hard. I asked the waiter about the long wait and he said that they were short-staffed.
I understand that restaurant can be busy, but an hour is just too long to wait for a pizza. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food is overpriced and very few options if you don’t want pasta or steak. Food took over 40 minutes after ordering too arrive. Out door venue was nice
