We noticed that there was a new pizza place that opened up downtown and knew we had to try it. We stopped by this past weekend for a few slices. The restaurant is very clean, and modern with an Italian feel. There is some seating inside as well out front. We ordered a few slices to share, definitely a favourite was the classic cup n char and the prosciutto and Brie. All the pizzas have a nice thin crust with a light airy edge. The toppings are excellent quality including the cheese. The sauce is nice and light and well seasoned. Overall, fantastic pizza and friendly staff, can’t go wrong. The only draw back is prices are rather high, and the slices are not overly large. If you are in the area, or looking to fill your next pizza craving, check out Bonito’s. You won’t be disappointed.

Tried Bonitos today and by far the best pizza I have had in Hamilton so far. Good quality ingredients make great pizza. The service was on point and great customer service. I live in Oakville and can safely say it is worth the drive to Hamilton. Do yourself a favour and give this a try you won’t be disappointed.

Bonitos is a contender! Old meets new. I feel like this belongs so much on James Street with all the Hamilton James Street Italian heritage.
Pizza is fabulous, nice and thin. Not too crispy just perfect. Lots of options. Meat or vegetarian.
The Gelato is too good. I’ve never had a vegan hazelnut, most places as a non dairy option have only lemon or other fruit flavors. Which certainly are good. But this blew me away.
Great atmosphere, lots of tables out front on the sidewalk. And tables inside.
Only thing I can ask for is a bike rack out front.
Can’t wait to go back.

This is top notch pizza and gelato that’s so unique that you will not find anything similar anywhere around these parts. The pizza is Roman style rectangle pan pizza (al taglio). The dough is fermented over the course of three days which provides a light airy crust that cooks to a golden brown finish on the bottom. They use many imported ingredients of high quality which makes for a super tasty pizza. It is one that is not rivalled in this town or anywhere near for that matter. There are plenty of flavour combinations available to satisfy everyone’s palate and desires. Even better you can finish the meal off with the creamiest gelato that you will ever taste. Once again there are many flavours to chose from to tickle everyone’s fancy. The service is efficient and friendly as you will feel welcome the second that you walk through the door. As well it’s an open concept kitchen so you can see everything before your eyes. Nothing to hide especially when you’re delivering the finest quality of goods. The entire facility is super clean and absolutely spotless. Bonito’s is a wonderful addition to James St. North. Their motto is “where passion meets flavour” and you can trust me when I say that the truth is definitely in the food they provide. Everything is made with care and love. Stopped in for lunch and ordered the cup and char half pizza. Delicious! My wife said it was the best pizza she’s had since coming to Hamilton. We also enjoyed the creamy gelato, with a cappuccino and an Americano. Also delish. We will be returning to try the pasta. We recommend Bonitos to satisfy your pizza craving.

The pizza here is great. I got a slice of the Quattro fromagi and a slice of the truffle pizza. Both were great. The tomato sauce is salty and sweet and there is right amount of yeasty dough. My wife is vegan and she got a slice of the veggie pizza.
And the gelato is creamy, silky, and smooth. Don’t leave without getting some gelato.

The crust, sauce, cheeses, and toppings were all perfect!
The crust was a masterpiece: golden brown, perfectly crisp on the outside with a warm, airy inside, like bakery bread!
The sauce was bursting with rich tomato flavour and just the right touch of garlic & herbs.
Now let’s talk about the cheese—ooey, gooey, and generously layered. It had that perfect stretch and a delicious blend that brought the whole slice to life.
And the toppings? AMAZING! Whether it was the pepperoni that curled into crispy little cups or the mushrooms, everything tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality.
Every slice felt like a little piece of pizza heaven. I would go back in a heartbeat—and honestly, I might never look at other pizza the same way again!
