If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Stowe, Vermont, look no further than Salt & Rind. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a warm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances modern elegance with a hip vibe. The design of the restaurant is sleek and sophisticated, creating an ideal backdrop for what turned out to be a spectacular culinary journey.

Now, let’s dive into the food. Each dish we tried was a masterpiece, showcasing the chef’s remarkable skill and creativity. The deviled eggs were a delightful twist on a classic, bursting with flavor and served with a finesse that left us craving more. The tuna tataki was nothing short of perfection. It was fresh, beautifully presented, and seasoned to enhance its delicate flavors. The Coq au Vin was rich and comforting, a true testament to the art of French cooking, while the pork tacos brought an exciting burst of flavor, marrying traditional elements with a modern flair. It’s clear that the menu at Salt & Rind is thoughtfully crafted, ensuring that every bite is a celebration of taste.

Equally impressive was the attentive and friendly service. Our server, Peter, was a gem, extremely informative and genuinely passionate about the menu. He anticipated our needs with ease, making sure our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. His warmth added an extra layer of comfort, making us feel right at home.

In a town like Stowe, where dining options could be considered somewhat limited by most standards, Salt & Rind stands out as a true gem. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that rivals any top tier restaurant in any major city. Whether you’re a local or a traveler passing through, this restaurant is an absolute must visit. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

So psyched that Waterbury keeps on getting better and it was already great. My wife and I had a great meal and drinks here. Great atmosphere, vibe and staff. Food was amazing. We could not have been more happy with deviled eggs, tuna salad and pork belly tacos. So good!!!

Great experience. Sought them out for the oysters. They did not disappoint—two types from Maine and one from Cape Cod. These were the star of the show. Excellent deviled eggs. Outstanding service from the barkeep and the open kitchen chef. Great drink & food menu. The place is tight—especially at the bar. Maybe seats 25+. Thank you. We’ll be back!

The hot crab dip was so good, but the roast beef sandwich might be the best I’ve ever had. One person at the table next to us also got the roast beef sandwich and I could hear every person try it and say how amazing it was.

Wow, this is a find! It’s very small with no reservations so arrive early. Open Wed-Sat. Service is great and they really take pride in their food. The oysters are amazing! Fresh and tasty. We got a platter of a dozen oysters for $26 and were treated to 3 different kinds: one from Massachusetts and 2 kinds from Maine. I loved one of the Maine kinds and the other Maine oysters were a favorite as well. Affordable and some of the best oysters I’ve ever had. Tuna sashimi and spicy tuna salad are both well worth it – fresh and amazing flavor. We loved the watercress salad that came with most of our dishes – I’m not sure I even knew I liked watercress before this. The shrimp cocktail was good but small and again fresh. Fingerlings potatoes were great but small and could do with less stuff on it – cheese and bacon are plenty. Chicken tacos had super fresh cilantro and lime. Seafood roll – my other half liked it better than I did as I felt that the squid rings seem to overpower the dish for me – the brioche roll was lightly toasted and buttered to perfection. The presentation of all the dishes is appealing and professional. The menu is hard to describe – super fresh ingredients resulting in a slightly ever evolving menu, almost a dozen different “drinking snacks” including a number of dips – raw oysters, raw clams, raw tuna and a few tacos and sandwiches – bigger portions than a tapas plate but not a full sized dinner plate. Parking can be a bit confusing as it’s on the other side of the Hen of the Woods (we used that parking lot – just make sure you pay because they will ticket) and the place is hard to find as it seems surrounded by the Tropic Brewing. Overall, we can’t wait to go back for more – top picks are oysters and tuna dishes.

I’m so happy and excited to have a new spot to go to. The food was excellent (oysters, tuna sashimi, and kale Caesar). The margarita is one of the best around, and I’m a self-admitted snob on margaritas. The staff was so friendly, they played great music, and I loved the atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

Salt & Rind isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience you want to relive again and again. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly comfortable. And then the food arrives… and you realize you’ve found something seriously special.
The chicken tacos are out-of-this-world delicious — perfectly seasoned with fresh, vibrant toppings that make every bite pop. The beef sandwiches are just as incredible: tender, flavorful, and assembled with the kind of care that turns a great sandwich into an unforgettable one. Every dish feels handcrafted with love and creativity.
But what truly makes Salt & Rind shine are the people behind it — Luke and Britt. They aren’t just owners; they’re the heart of the entire place. You can feel their passion in every detail, from the menu to the atmosphere. They greet guests like old friends, share genuine excitement about the food, and create a space that feels full of kindness and community. Their positivity spreads, and you can see how much they care about making everyone’s night amazing.
Salt & Rind is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why going out to eat can be such a joyful experience. Fantastic food, wonderful service, and owners who put their whole hearts into what they do. If I could give this place more than five stars, I would — it truly deserves it.
