What a rip off!!

EDIT: I saw the owner’s reply below and wish I could give them a lower score than 1 star. Yes, I ordered on Uber Eats BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE ONLINE ORDERING AVAILABLE. So you HAVE to order through one of the apps. OK, the soup was discounted and I had two add-ons (beef & 1 egg, and it’s mixed in egg btw so if you’re hoping for a poached or soft-boiled egg, that’s not it)… that doesn’t change what I paid. It was ~$30 something for two soups. That’s ~$15 per soup for that cup of soup, no matter how you try to nitpick it. You say that’s 24 oz of soup.. ok well, there’s a pic for scale next to a coffee mug. There’s no justification in my mind to give that small amount of soup for $15. It took over 40 minutes for you to prepare 2 small cups of soup. That’s ludicrous. You had 2 tables seated. If you had 15 to go orders ahead of mine, maybe you should staff appropriately for your rush hours. Instead of trying to make this right or talk it out, you instead attack your customer.. the pictures are in the review, and people can decide for themselves regarding the serving size. Maybe that’s worth it to some, but in my opinion, it wasn’t worth it, and I feel ripped off.

I want to be as fair as possible here. I’ve eaten here several times and the food is really good. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality is high and the portions (until now) have been fair.

I ordered 2 soups and it ran me just under $30. I know, that’s really expensive for soup. But again, I’ve always had fair portions and the quality is really good.

When she handed me the bag, I thought it was a mistake. I literally went back inside and asked her if it was both soups or only one. The quality might be good, but for a serving that small.. it’s not THAT good. I said “this is a $15 soup?”. She just said “yes” and walked away. Now, you may be thinking “ok Josh, I’m sure it wasn’t that small? You’re just exaggerating”. Look at the pictures I’ve included with this review.

That mug I put for size comparison is a regular coffee mug. Usually when I’ve ordered this from other restaurants, it’s a cup twice this size that you get. $30 for two coffee mug size bowls of soup. Smh. I’m sorry but that’s an absolute rip off. I’d say that I just won’t order the soup and stick to dishes I know they’re much more fair with, but all it takes is one bad experience to change how you feel about a place. There are plenty of other Thai places with great food to go to.

I want to repeat that the food is good, and until now, I’ve thought portion size was fair (generous even), but while the soup was really good, it wasn’t THAT good to justify this small cup. One last little issue was I ordered mine with medium spice, and they didn’t put any 😮 $15 for a bowl of soup that they didn’t even make right.

Another issue was the wait. I ordered through Postmates for pick up. About 20 minutes later it said it should be ready for pick up. I got there, there were only 2 tables with people at them and they had their food. I had to wait an additional 20 MINUTES! It took over 40 minutes for them to prepare us 2 cups of $15 apiece soup.

Take that for what you will. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

2nd time getting food from T’s. Larb has been super good good both times we have gone. We had the cheese rolls and spring rolls were both good appetizers. Mango sticky rice is SUPER GOOD. Service could have been a little better. Had to wait quite a bit for my water refills. Only one waiter was on shift and he had to take care of the front, to go orders and tables. Still gets 2 thumbs up.

This is the best Thai food I have ever had. Tried the T’s Special fried rice today and OMG it’s the best fried rice I have ever had. The dumplings and chicken won tons are perfection. Highly recommend the Thai tea as well! It’s my favorite!

Food arrived fast and hot and of course delicious!
We order the Thai Tea and oh… It’s the best we try so far or at least on the last few years.
Atmosphere was quiet and nice.

I’m not sure why this spot doesn’t get more business. This is the best Thai food in San Antonio. They have this T’s special rice and the pork pops in your mouth when you eat it. It’s like a burst of flavor that melts in your mouth. Theie sticky mango rice is the best. For real, you guys need to check this place out! I’ve been going here for about a year and I’ll go nowhere else for Thai food!!!

I was really disappointed because I loved T’s when they were at Lombrano. But unfortunately there was not one but two hairs in my fried rice, and the plate of sesame chicken was mostly rice. When I used to order from the Lombrano spot it was always a full plate of chicken with rice on the side. My sesame chicken was excellent at least even if the portion was pretty small. I waited a good five minutes before anyone came to give me my to go order so service was just okay. I will still go back but I really hope it’s worth it next time because that plate of chicken was $13.

They just opened (mid October), and they are still working out the bugs. I loved Thai Taste that used to be here. I tried the lunch special (Red Curry with Chicken [spice level 1], comes with ice tea, soup, and spring roll). The waitress brought the tea and soup out quickly. Then when I was done with the soup (kinda bland), she brought me the pad woosen lunch special – it looked good, but I had to send it back to get the Red Curry that I ordered. The “re-do” on the order came out fast. It was ok, but also bland – I suspect it was because they cooked it so fast for me. ordered it mild, but I still felt some heat. The spring roll was bland, too. The price was fine (under $12 before tip). I really love thai food, so I will probably try this spot again, but from first impressions I would recommend people go to the Thai restaurant on Babcock and Callaghan.

I came here again after Veterans Day and tried their Thai Fried rice (spice level 2) and rice soup. My 2nd try was MUCH better than the first time. Much more flavor. I am guessing the 1st time I came the red curry wasn’t as good because they had to rush to re-do the order. The spring roll is still bland. The service still needs work – my soup and entree came out at the same time. This time my lunch, with tea and tax but without tip, came out to $11.26.

Third time to T’s, right before Thanksgiving. The guy (Brat) said he’d get them to make a panang curry for lunch for me. I loved that at Thai Taste. The lunch came with egg drop soup, spring roll, panang curry with chicken (spice=3) and rice. It was SO much better than the red curry in mid October. Definitely will go back now and try other dishes. The lunch came out to about 11 dollats before tip.

Trying this new place by work and the food was quite tasty. The portions were average, but the lunch special had a lot of options. We will be returning to try other menu items and can’t wait.
