I got the traditional cold cut bahn mi and why was it warmed up? Am i missing something? I thought cold cuts were supposed to be cold. I didnt ask for to be warmed and I was never asked? Also why did I see the employee grab the spam? Theres no spam in a traditional bahn mi. This shop needs to take lessons from Nguyen Huong in toronto where they sell actual traditional and authentic bahn mi. It was an okay sandwich tho.

As a Vietnamese person who grew up on my cultures food. Let me start with the biggest factor that infuriates me and many others in the Vietnamese community, “spring rolls” are NOT fried. They are made in clear rice paper. EGG ROLLS are the proper term for fried rolls. Both have completely different fillings as well. Now as for the pho, you should always dip the broth to see if it’s up to standard.. it in fact, was not. The noodles were a tad hard, the beef was overcooked, there wasn’t even hoisin sauce as a condiment option. Im sure there’s room for improvement, but I’ll stick to other options of Vietnamese spots around columbus. Please, if you’re going to share cultures with those unknown and uneducated about it, do it correctly and as authentic as possible. “Summer rolls” are not a thing. At all. “Vietnamese Spring rolls” are clear with rice noodles, herbs, vegetables (usually cucumber) and protein. “Egg rolls” are the most common that non-Asian people know. Which is fried with different fillings depending on which culture you get them from. If you’re going to pronounce, “Pho” do so properly. It is pronounced as, “fff-uhhh” YouTube is accessible, look it up if need be.

Believe it or not, I come here for the delicious sandwiches. The bahn mi have the right balance of savory and hearty, with a perfect touch from the pickled daikon and carrots. Nothing too overpowering flavor wise, so its great if you want something filling. They put a lot of love into the Pho, so savor it and enjoy it.

On the cold, winter day I was craving hot Vietnamese soup. Since I was visiting Columbus, I didn’t realize this place is not really “sit-down restaurant”. So as long as you are not looking for that but looking for a large, tasty, Vietnamese bowl of soup – you got to visit LAN Viet. They are located in the North market, with plenty of sitting space on the second floor. After flavorful soup, you might decide to try ice cream or other delicious treats from local vendors.

Sean with Offline – we went to the Lan Viet in bridge park. the food was prepared very fast. we tried the eggs rolls (average), the steak rice & noodle bowl (steak 10/10, rice/noodle part (3/10, not enough flavor, was plain but maybe ordered it wrong), the garlic noodles (8/10) and the shrimp pho (8/10). steak was great flavor very tender. garlic noodles delicious perfect amount of flavor, pho was good, not too oily like some other broths we’ve had at different restaurants and you could add your own spices. overall the food was very good, just might have ordered the rice noodle bowl wrong bc the rice and noodles were plain with an uninspiring sauce on the side.

Always amazing! We order at least once a week for our office. The staff here is always happy and loves to talk to their customers. I love the Shrimp Pho and recently tried the Hanoi Style and the two are fighting for my favorite.

Their steak Banh Minh is incredible. The French bread is perfect, veggies etc all paired with the bean sprout salad, equally as amazing. If you are near this place, you must try it. Great, fast service, highly recommend it. Pork was a winner as well.

Slaw on the banh mi is so so good and the grilled pork was cooked beautifully. Got it to go to eat while waiting for my flight later that evening and it was still delicious. Would love to try it fresh, I’m sure it would be even better. Also love that the price you see on the menu is the price you pay – tax is included! Service was quick too.

Ok, I was disappointed the broth had no flavor, and it was literally 3 pieces of chicken. But the chicken was tasty. It was pretty boring. I would like to try something different and hope it’s better… and the onigiri was good, and my server was friendly
