If this place has taught me anything, it’s to never judge a book by its cover. Though I’ve lived here 2 years and pass this place all the time, I never stopped in because it looked like just another cheap asian place. And I secretly judged my friend who absolutely loved it here. But it was her turn to pick dinner, so here we are. The inside the of the restaurant is nothing to write home about – basic tables and chairs and an echoey room. The food completely made up for it! Everything on the menu looked amazing so I asked the waitress for a recommendation and she said the soup so pho it was! My pho was amazing! The best I’ve had in milwaukee for sure. Tender meat without chewy tendons floating around and a delicious broth. My friends got the crispy noodles with chicken, which they raved about. My friend sho loves this place says the noodles soak up the sauce and each bite is a little different. Two others got the general tso’s chicken and the sesame chicken. Neither raved nor complained about their food. We also got some chrysanthemum tea to warm us up on the cold night which was just what we needed. Looking forward to coming back and trying takeout!

My new pho spot since I dont live far! Broth is pretty good. $2 off if you use cash! Service was great really recommend this place if you’re craving some pho on the east side.

I stopped for lunch and ordered the #17 which should have steak, brisket, meatballs, and tripe. It came out fast and was delicious but it came out with cilantro instead of basil. When I asked if they had basil the server brought a small bowl and asked if it was okay and explained that they were almost out. As I ate I found that there was no tripe. I didn’t ask about it. The service was extremely friendly and the dining room is comfortable. I will go again but next time I’ll make sure they know that I want tripe when I order.

My friends and I love this place so much! The owners are so sweet. The Pho (chicken) is amazing. It’s at a great price and there’s generous portions. (great leftovers!) Such an underrated cute place. Favorite place in Milwaukee.

I am a regular here. I probably get pho from here 2 or 3 times a week. Every time I pick up my order, the owners are both there to greet me with a smile and ask how my day was. It’s always such a pleasure to see them. The pho is so yummy and comforting. Just what I need and I’m lucky they are so close.

Best authentic Pho in the city with extremely generous portions. Also the owners are very polite and friendly. I just got take out and it was insanely good. Much better than the other pho places around. Would highly reccomend.

Service was decent but the food wasn’t good. The broth for the pho lacked a lot of flavor, the portion sizes of the meat was ridiculous, and they didn’t have basil to go with it. The spring rolls were weirdly warm and had one skinny strip of meat inside.

Decent Vietnamese pho if you live on the east side and don’t want to trek down to Pho Cali or Pho Viet on the south side. If I was to compare Pho 43 to those other two places listed above, it’s not as good. Broth was saltier and portions are smaller. Service was very good, very clean.

The pho here is great, and I do consistently order delivery from here when I just need my beefy noodle fix. But the rest of the food my husband and I have tried has been rather disappointing. The pork fried rice was mushy and had huge pieces of fatty pork, making it a less than enjoyable experience to eat it. The General Tso’s chicken is okay, but the other dishes my husband has ordered have been quite lackluster. I haven’t sampled any of their other noodle dishes, so maybe they’re passable. But I’d stick with traditional pho if you go here.

I usually get the chicken or combo fried rice here, both of which I like. I admit the pork is fatty in the fried rice, both the combo and the straight pork ones, which means I often eat around those pieces or trim them. The pho broth is tasty, and reheats well since we always get more then the noodles require.
I usually eat here at least once a month.
