Paying customer who also waited in said “long line” to use the restroom just for an employee to come knocking on the door, attempting to type in the code, then proceeding to bang on the door yelling “our bathroom time is going up.” Mind you, I wasn’t even in there long, the time it took them to make my one drink took significantly longer and the woman with her three kids waiting for the bathroom wasn’t even a paying customer. Talking about some “bathroom time” how about you prioritize that drive thru time yea.

I fear that it really depends on who is working when you are there. I can order the same drink but it’ll taste different almost every time. I just tried a drink and it was super bitter despite asking for milk in it. The color was off and it wasn’t filled to the top as usual. It becomes harder to want to even go here and spend more than other shops when the quality can’t match the price. The service also depends on who is there, some of the workers are definitely more welcoming than others. It’s specifically this location too, the one by the mall is always friendly and consistent.

Barista was extremely hostile & manager didn’t even care when i let her know how upset it made me. Don’t bother asking for an extra splash of creamer here even though you paid for it. i asked nicely for a splash of sweet cream (that i paid for ) in my drink because i am sensitive to caffeine & my drink was a bit strong for my liking, and the barista was extremely hostile. First asking me why i wanted an extra splash & telling me she already put some in. Before i could even explain it was a bit strong for my liking & i only wanted a splash more she proceeded to dump the container in til my cup practically overfilled & slammed the container down splashing sweet cream all over the counter and stormed away. I stood there wiping up my drink & making sure nothing got on my work attire and felt extremely stressed cause i only asked for an extra splash of sweet cream and i asked her kindly, that hostile and rude behavior caught me by surprise and felt me feeling incredibly upset. As a former barista that understands the fast pace of the job that was extremely unprofessional. To the barista if you see this idk if you were having a bad morning or a busy shift but taking it out on strangers especially someone who approached you kindly is 100 percent wrong. I will never ever come to this starbucks again because of how hostile and nasty you were. I hope you find a better way to manage the stress of your job or find a different one if your gonna be set off by something as simple as extra creamer. To the manager who i tried to talk to to let her know how upset that made me, i wish you would of let me finish one sentence before interrupting me with an “It’s Okay” because actually it really was not okay i feel like you should have taken the time to hear me and how that encounter left me feeling attacked. You should of checked on your barista and asked her if she was feeling okay or needed a moment to herself before continuing to treat her customers the way she did. If i could hold my composure an speak kindly to your barista & you after being treated so horribly than asking for a moment of your time to actually CARE shouldn’t have been so hard. At the end of this experience walking out with zero accountability for the shitty way everything was handled really ruined my morning & the cherry on top was dumping my drink i paid for in the trash because she ruined It & it wasn’t even drinkable. Thank you to puainako starbucks who i had to mobile order for a replacement for being professional and kind every time i come in. I appreciate the Welcoming vibe & professional service at your location every time.

Full. Stop.
The worst part is that neither the staff, nor Manager was apologetic. Literally, the word “sorry” was Never uttered (which made me wonder if it was an intentional oversight!).
When I attempted to get a refund, the manager assumed a perturbed demeanor – very flippant & terse. It was “You could if you want, but I could make it right now…”
No gift card was ever offered.
People this uninhibitedly boorish cant help it. What I experienced was overt classism & Xenophobia & one day They will encounter their betters & be humbled. Cheers!

I live off grid, like to get out to work, and I basically made this location my office/living room for a few months. I love the location for the people watching and it was super endearing when the staff remembered my order and name. I’ve been hanging out in Starbucks all over since my girlfriend in highschool was a barista, and this Starbucks has the nicest view of the Pacific and staff I’ve found.

Strangest Starbucks I’ve seen. There’s not enough furniture to fill the space so it feels makeshift and all the power outlets have been covered up so that nobody can charge anything despite every customer that was in the store having a laptop.
There was also a leak from the room, which isn’t a problem—these things happen—but instead of putting towels and a bucket, they just put a wet floor sign next to the table and let it run free, splashing the customers and running over the floor.
If you want to go to a Starbucks, don’t go to this one.

Great pit stop here on a beautiful road trip through Honolulu. Quick service. Would have loved to check out the city of Hilo a bit more but time restrictions prevented it. Great historic hub.
