I recently visited Babai Bandi for dinner and ordered karampodi punugulu, karampodi idly, egg bajji, and stuffed mirchi. They also served three different types of chutneys along with the dishes.
Honestly, the karampodi idly was the highlight of the meal. The idlies were soft and topped with ghee, which made them incredibly flavorful. They were so good that we ended up ordering another plate of idly again at the end.
The punugulu were also really good, crispy outside, soft inside, and tasted perfect with the chutneys same like Vijayawada punugulu.
The stuffed mirchi was extremely spicy, so it might be a bit too much for people who are sensitive to spice. The egg bajji was a little disappointing for me. I didn’t really like the taste, and the yolk had a slight smell which affected the flavor.
What I really liked about the place is the ambience. The lighting and simple benches give a very authentic feel, almost like sitting at a small street food stall in India. The service was great, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The dosa and ghee idly are amazing — perfectly cooked, soft, and full of authentic Indian taste.
The chutney is excellent, rich in flavor and very satisfying.

Overall, everything here is really good — food, taste, and vibe.
This is a perfect place for Indian tiffin, and I genuinely loved it.

If you’re looking for 100% authentic Indian tiffin taste, I strongly recommend Babai Bandi. You can happily visit this place anytime! ❤️

Worth trying to get experience of Indian food truck
Tried dosas (they won’t serve sambaar), small bondas (delicious & crispy), onion uttapam thick & not good and chicken fired rice was delicious
Service is slow and it took like 45mins for to go order. Atmosphere is great
Will visit in future for sure.

Loved the outdoor environment.
Ghee Idli was great.
Poori and Mysore bonda, and masala dosa were good.
Veg fried rice was ok.
Their most popular ghee karam dosa was very flaky and crumbled into smaller pieces upon first contact. Did not enjoy eating it.
I felt the prices were high for the location.

This was my first time having South Indian food and I was not disappointed! Super flavorful and perfectly spicy. The staff was all really nice as well. I’ll make the hour drive to come again, for sure.

The restaurant had a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with a perfect balance of energy and comfort. The crowd was diverse, creating a vibrant yet family-friendly vibe. Despite being busy, the staff managed the flow efficiently, ensuring minimal wait times and excellent service. It’s a popular spot for good reason, and the buzz only adds to the dining experience! We ordered Ghee Karam Idli, Punugulu, Ravvadosa. They are vey tasty and then ordered chicken pakodi and ends with Mango Lassi which is very delicious.

It’s decent place for some south Indian street type foods and tiffins. The mini punugulu are nice and poori was good. Masala dosa was average. Chutneys wer also ok but not great. There are No restrooms on site, beware when you plan to go with kids. For a quick bite it’s ok, as it’s a truck and not a fine dining …

The place is well maintained and well run. During rush hours I can see a huge backup. I think they will need a larger kitchen and they need to reduce the wait times. The expectation for a Bandi is fast service, but on certain items liked dosa or biryani the eta is over 30 minutes that makes it difficult for customers.

We had punugulu pretty good, onion samosa decent, idly pretty good. I didn’t think the place was cheap but it was also not very expensive.

Visited again on 3/31/2025:
Special rava Dosa is very good highly recommended.
