Nothing fancy here. Typical small-town rural bar with the usual bar flies. Don’t compare it to something in Blaine or (cough) Minneapolis. They aren’t trying to be upscale or give any vibe, so just know that when you walk in.

Love this place! The staff is friendly and happy! EJ my godfather was a great man and bar owner. After he passed he handed the place to my Aunt. Who is a Awesome owner. They love for people to come have a good time. Behave yourselves and have a great time.♡♡♡

Cheap drinks, bartender (Crystal) was friendly. Cool little place for the middle of nowhere. Pool table is decent; would be nice to have a little more space around it, but it works. Men’s single person bathroom is very unique with two toilets haha happy I stopped here. Will go back.

Wish I could give the service less than a star.. the bartender completely snubbed us Saturday night. Not sure what we did, came in with a positive vibe (hadn’t even started drinking yet) and watched my friend stand at the bar for over 10 minutes while the bartender gave him pissy remarks anytime he actually managed to get her attention.
(No, we weren’t being impatient, we had all worked in food service and no it wasnt even very busy..)
I’m not a big drinker.. I’ve been living within walking distance of EJs for over 5 years now and this was my first experience, not to mention I brought company.
The bartender smirked at us as we put our coats back on and left. My friends wife said thank you on our way out(the bartender shrugged as if to say meh what ever).. my wife said yes, thank you for nothing and the bartender said in a snotty tone you’re very welcome.
Too bad, we’re actually really good tippers because we understand the industry, often more times than not the table we occupy is cleaner than when we arrived.
We were only looking for a single round of beers and shots to celebrate an occasion.
To the owners:

We came into town from SE MN to watch a hockey game and wanted to stop for a couple drinks at a typical small-town “tavern”. We picked EJ because those are my friend’s initials. EJs was the perfect spot. Everyone in the bar made us feel right at home.

Oh man!! I got really Lucky on E-Tabs at EJ’s Bar & Bottle shop, yesterday, it was my best night of gambling ever, by far!!! So Happy I stopped in for a night cap & 4 fun try my luck on Electronic pull tabs instead of the regular ones ,with ten bucks & WOW noway, unbelievable, It was the right game at the Right Time at a Great place, E J ‘s Bar on 22 Viking. Its just a little dive bar and its great. You go to these places for generous pours and cheap beers. The crowd is older but theyve all been nice to us when we go there. I’m sure pretentious hipsters can find a place more suitable to their sensibilities. EJs is more about knocking a few beers back; eating a frozen pizza and talking to some friends or playing a game of pool. Surprisingly few good little watering holes like this up in the area so we’re glad EJs exists.. Also; service is always good.
