No matter how late it is, the staff is always happy to serve us dinner with a smile. The customer service here is truly some of the best around. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in.
And the food? Always perfect. Hot, fresh, and exactly what you’re hoping for after a long day.
It’s rare to find a place that consistently delivers both great service and great food, but this location does it every time. If you’re in Pembroke and looking for a place where you’ll be greeted with a smile and leave satisfied, this is it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First off the food. Quality has been pretty decent, but as others have mentioned the portion sizes are inconsistent as could be. The first time in my breakfast was huge and I had leftovers. The next time I ordered that same meal it was a little over half the size. I’ve never seen a “dollop of grits”, but there it was. They also frequently forget items, as if they don’t know their menu and don’t review the order when serving. Best of luck getting that biscuit and gravy or toast you ordered. And if you order to go, order double. As seen on the plincludes pic, it ain’t a big breakfast (was when I last ordered the same exact thing for dining in).
When it comes to service, this is the biggest strike. They just seem extremely disorganized as is nobody knows their position or what to do next. Based on the layout, they need a dedicated host/hostess and to go order position. Having servers break off to seat and ring up, then go to the kitchen, then back to tables is organizational suicide. If there has been a manager on duty, it is never apparent because nothing is being managed. This isn’t to say there aren’t good ataff. We’ve always had pleasant interactions and didn’t feel ignored, but because of the disorganization it was easy to tell which staff were motivated with good work ethic, and who was there to just collect a check.
Finally, the atmosphere is fine. It is a quintessential Huddle House with the modernized diner vibe. It has always been clean and approachable.
I hope that management is able to get a handle on the staff tasking and improve the overall service because I think all the other issues stem from that. If they continue on this path though, the customers will leave and this will just be one more failed business in Pembroke.
Then we didn’t even have silverware. My sister had to get up and get us utensils. We got our food and had to ask for jelly and refill on coffee. 10 min later still no refil. Watched the girl take somebody else coffee and when we asked her she stated “oh I don’t have any I had to make a new pot I ran out so it’ll be a few minutes”. People were coming in looking around and trying to figure out where to sit as those dirty tables we walked in to were still dirty. Not like crazy dirty but def people had sat and ate and just nobody was cleaning them off for over 30 min. We told a few people just to place the stuff on a side table and there was also a ton of water on one half the store floor. Zoom in on pic and you’ll see it. …. Guessing there was a leak of some sort. Little girls came in with their parents and couldn’t even use the restroom because they had it locked the whole time after a worker had went in and came out. No sign on the door. Just locked the female restroom. Once they saw we started taking a few photos they finally started cleaning up the tables and make it seem like they were doing their jobs…. Another person walked in I’m guessing may have been management because things started to get done on a more rapid pace. Tables cleared and people getting their orders. However my only experience at a huddle house was less than bare minimum on their part.
Sariah and Ray, the manager, were great. Even though it was close to closing time, they were polite, patient, and willing to turn the fryer and grill back on to prepare my food. I’ve worked in restaurants before, so I know how much extra effort that takes at the end of a long shift. Their attitude made a real difference.
The wait was short considering they had to reheat equipment, and the restaurant looked clean and well kept. This was my second time ordering from this location. My wife and I enjoyed our first dine-in visit, and this pickup order showed me that the good service wasn’t just a one-off.
I can only speak for my own experience, but it was genuinely great. Easy 5 stars.
The Food: I ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger and it was disappointing. I paid extra for the mushrooms and got two slivers and they forgot to substitute the Swiss cheese. For my side, I got mac & cheese and it was dreadful, the cheese sauce tasted fake and was clearly microwaved. As a treat, I got a slice of apple pie for dessert and they microwaved it right in front of me straight from the freezer, the flavor wasn’t bad but when you microwave it, it just is gross.
Service: They are doing their best, but they really need a dedicated host/takeout person. They are adequately friendly, but don’t go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Atmosphere: They are going for modern diner and pretty much achieve it.
