Essentially 1 guy is running the bar and dinner service. He hustles but it really limits the service he can provide.

I was staying in the hotel and ordered the Steak Frites. Wasn’t looking for perfect but good, and I guess that’s what I got. Steak arrived med rare as requested but lacked flavor, color and was tough. Fries were recently cooked but not great. The issue is for the same money I’d been better off going to one of the chains nearby and received better service and food.

Shaun the bartender, server, host busses, was Amazing! Kept our glasses full, made sure we had everything and everything was satisfactory. The Mr Fable burger took me back in time, was amazing. Cheese curds cooked to perfection. It’s a hidden spot you need to visit. (it’s in the Double Tree Hotel)

I ordered the blue gill entry. This was cooked/fried to perfection. Puts my mom’s to shame ( she cooked what we brought home and cleaned). However the Watermelon corn salsa was the best combo I’ve ever tasted!!! If I’d eaten this first I would have ordered a second helping. Oooh so good!

I am giving it a 2 because the breakfast was great and the servers are attentive. If I had not had the breakfast I would be trying to to give it a 0 for the dinner service or lack of the night prior. Sat next to the bar for 20 minutes before the server/bartender came to take our orders. Then 25 minutes later I decided to cancel the order and the server/bartender apologized because she forgot to put the order in. We were 2 customers of 9 that were in the restaurant.

The bartender was cool. My crown and coke was mixed strong, just the way I like it. I ordered a pizza to take back to the room so I could continue working. It was the most horrid thing I’ve ever tasted. Something was spoiled. Plus it was burnt. I’m sure there is an excuse for it all. Not enough people, not this not that. I get it. But a visual inspection would have solved it all.

For being a restaurant in a Double Tree hotel it was really good. I ended up going there 3 times during my stay, not including getting breakfast there everyday. The food was good with a good mix of items. The beer selection is great.
Breakfast was really good too. The bacon is thicker cut and is definitely much better than what you normally get at a hotel breakfast buffet.

I visited Ganders as a guest of Doubletree. I took a risk and ordered blackened salmon expecting a flavor explosion. That did indeed cross my tastebuds, but a wee bit intense for ne. I think the spice slightly overwhelmed the fish’s delicate taste. The salmon itself was cioked wrll done, coming across as a bit dry. I didn’t ask for it to be prepared a veryain way, my bad. The accompanying red rice provided a nice textural counterpoint – well-cooked and fluffy, though somewhat bland on its own. The saving grace of the meal was the Brussels sprouts, which were perfectly crispy and beautifully balanced with a tangy balsamic glaze that added a bright, acidic note to the plate. Overall, the dishwasher good, but would’ve been better for me if it showcased the salmon’s flavor and juiciness a bit more.
